BHPian ex-innova-guy recently shared this with other enthusiasts.
Went for a Test Ride to Voyage Motors Kandivali. They had an Interceptor but didn’t have the Continental GT stating that it has gone for service and will call me once it is back.
For context, I have ridden only RE Electra 2001 and Classic 350 since 2020. Never rode any other bike except for R15 for a very brief time.
It was a 2018 Interceptor with decent miles on it.
Immediately as I sat on the Interceptor I could feel the weight of the bike. The test ride was supposed to be a short 3 km one. As soon as I started it, I realised why sandeepmohan sir said an aftermarket exhaust is a no-brainer although I loved the stock exhaust symphony.
Considering the engine was a step above my current steeds, I took it slow initially to open the throttle. On the go, it was easy to manoeuvre and frankly was taken aback by the power. Must admit it was a bit scary once I opened the throttle since I had never experienced such power on a bike before (Litre class riders laughing at me). Completed the short ride and gave back the keys.
I called multiple dealerships in the 5 km radius but none had the Continental GT for a Test Ride. One thing that bugged me was that you need to go through the RE Helpline every time you call any dealership.
Headed home but dropped to another RE service centre as I wanted some parts for my bike. Turns out it is also a stockyard and if I book the bike in the earlier mentioned showroom then I need to collect the bike from here. Win-win as it is ~1km away from home and easy for PDI too. They had chrome, green and the new Black colour Continental GT over there.
Will update once I ride the Continental GT. Thank you for your suggestions and reading.
