Regarding automatic variants, there still prevails a strong myth among public that automatic cars will give drastically low mileage. Hence a buyer who is on a tighter budget (say within 4 lakh) will be fuel cost -conscious than a buyer who looks for a 10 lakh automatic sedan. Our Indian mindset hasn't changed drastically atleast when it comes to running costs and maintenance, spare parts cost.

| Thanks for the update! Are you sure on ABS part? I believe few pages earlier people were talking about this feature missing. Did you see any variant there with ABS badge on the back? |

| I am not sure. This is all oral communication of specs. I have not seen any variant with ABS badge on the back. In fact, I could not see the sportz variant. Reports are there that the sportz variant looks different from other variants... |

| Any photos of the reportedly large boot space on the Eon? Are the wheel wells prominent (like the Figo) or are they relatively hidden (like the Alto) in the boot. Also, are there 60:40 split seats? Can't seem to recall if split seats are offered on the Eon. My wife is going gaga over the Eon and feels that it should ideally be our small second car. Problem is, our Alto (which is now being used by her) is only 3 years old and could take a huge price hit. We may get only Rs 1.5L for it and we would then need to add another Rs 1.5L to get a Eon with PS/AC. Don't know if it is worth undertaking this leap. | The boot space of EON is larger than the Alto. The showroom persons are not allowing to take photographs since the official launch is not yet over. The boot space is not as much as a palio, but more than an alto. I think, there is a bit more depth also compared to alto. The wheel arches can be felt inside the boot on both sides. It is projecting a little bit. Not too much. This projection has come since there is more depth to the boot. In the PS_AC variant which I have examines, there was no carpet covering over the two wheel arches in the boot. That is the reason why I remember about a 'little bit projected' wheel arches inside the boot. 60:40 split for rear seat was not there in the variant I have seen. May be available in the higher variants. Last edited by KMohanan : 6th October 2011 at 10:22. |

In the market you could get about 2.2 to 2.3. having said that its not worth moving to EON in your case. Unnecessary extra investment. I fell you can push another 3 years hassle free with the alto. Cheers

| BHPian | Pricing doesn't look very aggressive for a car that is targeted at the M800/Alto segment. If it is priced between 3 and 4 lacs then I would prefer a Brio with much better engine than this. It also looks somewhat odd to me with all that excessive "fluidity" for a car of that size. ![]() ![]() |

| Got a chance to see the car again. I have tried to cover all parts in my pictures.Interior quality of the car is great so is the space. If I compare it with Alto the car looks miles ahead or you can say a generation ahead. |

| 2.5 lakhs for a base version might be possible only if it has no ps and ac. Seems to be the car will be priced in the region of 2.9-3.1 lakh ex showroom. My guess is 2.99 lakhs tried and tested formula |
