Here is today's spy shot.

Can you guys make out any change in the bumper compared to previous spy shots?

re: The 2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift caught testing in India. EDIT: Now launched at Rs 7.31 lakhs

As we get closer to Diwali, more leaks appear everyday. This one near the Ford factory in Chennai where a reader of Financial Express got clicking:

http://www.financialexpress.com/auto...r-2017/703709/

Also, watch the video of the same here:

Clearly shows the floating new ICE. Here's hoping Ford gives automatic option for EcoBoost, or atleast electronic ORVMs

re: The 2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift caught testing in India. EDIT: Now launched at Rs 7.31 lakhs

A few observations

-The wheel covers design is not that good now. Maybe just a personal preference and it may even change in the final product
- That infotainment screen is HUGE and much wanted but I think that looks too near to the edge of the dashboard. I mean that the driver would have to move his eyes a lot to look at the screen and also it would be at a very bad angle. Would have been better IMO if they could have moved the screen a little further back(but not in the same position as the current model). Because right now, as much as I hate the Low Res screen, the one thing its good at, is its position.

And also looks like they would offer it even in variants lower than Titanium. Kudos to that.

Spotted this The day before between the Coimbatore Salem Stretch NH 544.

Can anybody confirm this is the Ecosport itself ?, The boot kind of confuses me a little.

P.S: Sorry for the bad Image quality , shot from a moving car.
The driver did not use the phone camera while driving .

That is EcoSport itself. The US version comes without the tailgate mounted spare wheel. Not sure why it is being tested here.

Here's hoping they launch it without the tailgate mounted spare wheel as well. For me, that is the only sore point for an otherwise excellent car.

Thanks ashwinsadeep, It did look like a left hand drive to me as well, and the blackened alloys are different from the current Indian version which are being sold.

This looks to be a very promising car and I really hope Ford doesn't screw this by the time it is released in our market. I would personally be ecstatic if they manage to keep this car as close to it's American avatar as possible. The American one looks just perfect, on the inside as well as outside. Nexon is another promising car from the Tata stable which may give Ecosport a tough competition at the time of release during the festive season.

Vitara Brezza, though a very compelling buy, doesn't really convince me with the safety features on offer and the age old MJD 1.3 engine. Maruti needs to step up their game in the engine department. They have already addressed the looks, and I must say, the recent Maruti cars are quite the lookers.

The last image shows an all wheel independent suspension?

This seems to be the export variant, going by the lack of spare wheel on the hatch, and the orange reflector on the edges of the headlamps that are required by the law in the USA.

Here's one which my friend captured today.

That's the US version for sure. No mounted spare wheel, amber inserts in headlight cluster and left hand drive. It's either being tested here for export quality check, or maybe because the facelift launched in India will be more or less the same spec.

I drove the Ecosport with the 1 litre ecoboost today for the first time & have to say that this engine needs a DCT for city folks. I sincerely hope that Ford puts out a fully kitted out Ecoboost version with an automatic in this hugely updated version .

Fully agreed, while i love the engine and its refined nature, I am not a fan of the hard clutch and a little notchy gearshift. It gets especially irritating in the city and the DCT would be the perfect solution to this.

Looks promising. One of the major product from the Ford India stable which made them survive in the Indian market, if only it's American counterpart Chevy could have learned a thing or two

re: The 2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift caught testing in India. EDIT: Now launched at Rs 7.31 lakhs

Fresh set of spy pics, courtesy an IAB reader in Ghaziabad.

Quote:
While two test mules feature Golden Bronze and Kinetic Blue colours that are from the current colour palette, new to the facelifted EcoSport is the Arpoadar Red offered overseas.
The Golden Bronze and Arpoadar Red test mules also have different 16-inch alloy rim designs, although it is unlikely that the new Ecosport would offer two alloy options in the top-end grade. The Kinetic Blue example seems based on a lower variant (like the Trend) inferred from the lack of roof rails, projector headlights, LED DRLs and plastic silver finish for the grille surround and slats instead of chrome.
If you look closely, all three models have a dash-top module in the centre console, affirming an 8-inch floating touchscreen in top-end models running SYNC3, and a 2-DIN audio system with a small display in lower models. It also appears that Ford will drop the all-black interior for a dual-tone beige and black colour combination, judging by the beige seats and door cards.

Wish the IAB reader clicked some interior pictures too... phew!!

Looks like we won't be getting an auto gearbox in EcoBoost indeed.
