New 4X4 project

Jyobeb,
I was looking at the body that you picked up and came up with a few thoughts:
1: The front fenders will fit your Trepadors quite nicely but when i look at the rear, i felt(to my untrained eye) that there might be the need for some modifications. Pictures of the inside of the vehicle will throw more light though.
2: The color that you will use for the paint job. I am sure there will be generous chrome to retain the retro(i am big on retro) look. I was imagining the body in a fiery red and a maroon red and i could not think of anythign but these two colors. Maybe you have already decided but i was just so fixated on these two colors. It will be very interesting to see you choose the paint job.
3: Before you think that i am getting ahead of time, I was looking at the body and the rust in certain areas and realised that the body needs to be strengthened at a few areas bearing in mind the torque and the possible vibrations of the monster inside. Its like you have put the hulk in an old metal cage. I am sure you have detailed plans to take care of it but could not resist saying that.
4: I am awed by the fact that you took a life saving ambulance to breathe life into your project(not that it was any less livley before) and i was looking at the red flashing light above the windshield and was wondering if you will retain it in memoriam. Just wondering...
5: I was looking at the rear and just loved the door handles for the top. It looks like there are two doors and it opens conveniently for storage and once well restored, it will look brilliant in a fiery red(again, this is me getting too involved, hope you dont mind). The two door option at the rear reminds me of the Mitsubishi Outlander which is so convenient. I guess the Ambulance needed that feature much ahead of time.
Once again, good luck and please post some pictures of the interiors like dashboard, rear cabin with the doors opened etc.
Any time guys! I have just come across an entire rear diff assembly off a Tata Aria (With disc brakes) and I am looking at using it for this build.
Unfortunately, the diff is a Spicer unit with 4.1:1 ratio and my build has a Dana 44 unit, with a 4.56:1 ratio.
I have to now see if the disk brake assembly can be retrofitted on to my diff assembly!
That's a classic body shell you have got! Excellent choice and going back to keenly watching your creation unfold. Thanks for sharing all these details :)
Great going jyobeb - Absolute Awesomeness!:thumbs up
Definitely an award winner in the making! Can't wait to see the final outcome!!
Here's are a few examples off Google (in case you haven't searched them already ;) ).
Cheers!
Got my alternator, AC compressor and air compressor fitted.
The body has been placed on top of the chassis to check for clearances.
Some pics.
Awsome man !!. And you when you get you start your next project, you know who is going to buy this one from you right :-)
Truely awesome! What a monster! Will you lift the body to compensate for articulation or trim the arches?
Jyobeb , what pump tuning have you done since you have the turbo, was the pump calibrated using the NA 14b chart or the turbo 14 b chart?
What is the DV setting and max fuel cc?
Does the pump have a pneumatic governor or mechanical governor?
Did you overhaul the pump using denso parts or replaced them with MICO parts?
What elements does the pump have, denso or mico , what number?

They used the 14B chart + 25% more,
What is the DV setting and max fuel cc?
I really do not know.

Mechanical Governor.

Very few parts were replaced and the parts that were replaced were MICO parts.
What elements does the pump have, denso or mico , what number?
Denso. No idea about the number. |
@Tejas: I will trim the arch to handle articulation. The vehicle, as it is, is very elevated due to the tyres!
Beboy Sir... could you park a jeep or a car next to this and show a pic for height reference?
Oh man shes wide . I must say its a great work , i guess this would be India's most monstrous off roader . Hats off sir .
@ santosh. Will do man, and stop calling me Sir.
@ Karizma9292 . probably not but thanks anyway!!!!
Two more photos of the back and front with grill and bumper. Just hanging in there, however!!!!
Santosh, an Ambassador to compare with for now.
Cant wait to see final pictures, Which color are you planning to give her ?
