Hello Guys,

Anyone knows what are the options of engines available on the Gurkha 4X4 currently? I have just sold my Bolero 4X4 for buying a Gurkha 4X4 but the engine I hear is a 70 BHP one unline rsss who has a 80/90 BHP one. is it possible to get the company to fit this engine?
Also where is the auxillary PTO situated?

Today my first cousin calls up and tells my wife that he is buying a new 4x4 jeep. My wife asks which one, and he says Forget it, you wouldn't have heard about it. She still insists and he says Gurkha, and my wife says Ah! the one from Force Motors. And his jaw drops to the floor. Obviously he didn't know my wife is an active TeamBHP lurker.

So I called up and this is what I found out. He is not a member here, still learnt about Gurkha on this thread and found more by talking rrnsss. Later he pestered Force Motors regularly for months until they revealed that they are releasing 20 limited edition Gurkhas, 10 hard top and 10 soft tops.

This is what he ordered:

MODEL TEMPO TRAX VP37 4X4 BSIII (GURKHA)
ENGINE TD 2650 FTI BS III DI TURBO CHARGED INTERCOOLED WITH EGR & OXYCAT, 56 KW @ 3200 RPM, and 195 NM @ 1800-2000 RPM

GEAR BOX 5 SPEED OVERDRIVE GI 18/5B
FRONT & REAR AXLE 4X4 WITH DIFFERENTIAL LOCK
STEERING POWER STEERING (RATIO 18:9:1)
BRAKES FRONT - DISC (DIA 262) BRAKE
REAR - DUO SERVO WITH LSV AUTO ADJUSTER
WHEELS 7.50 R 16 TYRE WITH 5.5F X 16 RIM, WITH WHEEL CAPS
HARD TOP WITH A/C SYSTEM
AIR INTAKE SYSTEM WITH SNORKEL ON STAINLESS STEEL TUBE

Now I know what the phrase "Make your own road means"!
I doubt there is anything on sale in India which can even come close to this!
Loved the going over rocks and the Jungle part!

If you read this thread fully, you will know that this force4x4 site and the video belongs not to Force Motors, but to a member here.

May be they were waiting for a certain number of really keen (prospective) customers to announce a "Limited edition" release.

Are You sure that you want the BS 3, VP 37 Engine.. It cannot be push started (Correct me if I'm wrong), There are a hell lot of Electricals, There is EGR-(which reduces the life of the Engine considerably), And once you're in the wild and the battery conks off... Thtz it... I always had a nice feeling towards all mechanical, turbo intercooled Engines

YES Force motors is planning in a big way...

1) New engine OM611 which will go in production next month
2) New Body styling a combination of both Scorpio & Sumo
3) A New Gear Box G32
4) Recently a whole new chassis called rationalised chassis.

Also underway is new face of Traveller.

While Force Motors is so reluctant to release Gurkhas, they will be more than happy to put the Gurkha differential and the engine into a Gama and deliver it. But, Gurkha is a Gurkha. It has waterproofed chassis and steel snorkel, etc.

Anyway, now my wife is also catching the 4x4 bug. She wants me to sell the Baleno and go for Gurkha. Now that I live in a village with bad roads, it does make some sense.

But then getting a Gurkha is like hitting a lottery. Meanwhile I am going to checkout the Gurkha when my cousin gets delivery.
