The storage box looks really nice and its indeed a wonderful place to keep stuff safely.
This has given me ideas for making a storage compartment for my CJ3B. Tomorrow being a sunday, I think that ill start hunting for old storage boxes at my home. hehehe!!!

Also glad to know that you've sorted out the heating issue.
Cheers

A long overdue update to this thread:

I sold off my brand new tyres and rims. The 31" tyre bug bit me. Now my classic has offset alloys and 31" big horns.

I also got rid of the OE roll cage for a 6 point roll cage. (Gogi is the new owner of the OE roll cage and soft top).

Car has undergone a shackle lift to accommodate thte bigger tyres and articulation. Suspension also modified.

The flimsy plastic dashboard has made way for a custom one now.

New rear bumper and tyre mount.

Details after the AKC & EXAMM!

A few work in progress pictures:

Interesting. Would be keen to know what "suspension" modifications you have undertaken apart from the Shackle lift. Imported dampers? Coil ones? And have you gone in for CFL springs? Dont tell me you're SPOA'ed too

And how much bigger a shackle did you slot in? How many more inches of clearance because of the shackle?

Did you feel the stock size tyre was inadequate? In the Munnar OTR, I felt the 15 inch trepadors were superb (perfectly mated with the engine) and they cleared every single obstacle with ease (be it rock, ravines, or hardcore slush).

Anyway, I'll wing your jeep when I am there ;-)

No SPOA. The mounting angles for the shocks are changed.

No CFLs either. Shackle lift approx 4".

See her when you get here.

Only the front part of the roll cage is attached to the chassis. The middle and rear will remain on the tub like the original. Thus, chassis flex will not be affected.

EDIT: Spitfire, why aren't you attending the EXAMMs???!!

Lift of 4 inch just using Shackles? That should be interesting.

Have you retained the stock dampers/shock absorbers? Or have you modified them too?

And you re-calibrated the leaf because?

Same shocks.

Re calibrated them because they had flattened out and the front ones were hitting the bump stops. Recal is getting them to OE shape, not going more offset.

Thats good. I have the same symptoms, but one guy I showed it to has said even a re-cal will not help and they will flatten again.

I am just wondering how this can be deduced by just looking at the leaf's.
