While there are quite a few installers on this forum, the only ones from Delhi (that I know of) are Driven and Autopsyche. While Autopsyche does more project oriented work, Driven is a retailer. Based on what your reuirement is, any of these guys will give you good advice, and will do quality work. This forum isnt a marketplace and any sort of commercial activity is not acceptable. So you can PM them for any further communication.

Thank Gunbir,

but what would you recommend me getting ?

Personally i think My budget would be to low for autopsyche, ive seen some of his work and personally i think it is more boy racer / riceburner type but hey whtever the client wants money is money,. i'll pm driven

Sam I still have my 7385! Beautiful sound no internal amplifiers to mess things. Too bad it dont play CDs! :-) Wish I had a 7998 but then that model is not ipod compaitble or is it?

I have used the 9830, 9833 and 9835. They are brighter but this can easily be rectified by tinkering with the speaker's XO. I dont know why the new Alpines are brighter but I have not heard them to be so bright as speedzak has reported.

Wanted: HU that is tonally "correct" (like Alpine 7998), no amp, no bells, no whistles, no lights, clear readable display, ipod compaitble, "affordable". Is the P80 this HU?

WHY But WHY did I change from PIONEER to ALPINE????
I screwed up my OL' good setup! Any way outta this now???

I'm in the verge of crying now! Not because I've spent some useful money on this stuff but it spoiled my listening pleasure.
I used to drive this ALTO just for the audio. Last month I clocked more than 3500kms!! Imagine will any sane person do that when there's a Honda Accord etc.. at your disposal??? I did that just because of the pleasure of fine sound my ALTO had. I used to sleep with sore knees sometimes but with a happy mind. Now, I dont have both (I started roaming in my dad's cars again). My dad & mom is very much against ICE and their cars have those plain jane OE systems which dont work in most cases (Dad tells the service guys not to fix it).

Now, what can I do?? I'm joining the club : I've just started hating ALPINEs too.

No No No dont do that just yet. We have to temper our judgement.

a) listen BEFORE you buy
b) Trust your ears not Sam's, JB's, Gunbir's, B&T's, Tool's, KB's etc...
c) before you blindly hate Alpine remember you loved it just as blindly once. Alpine like all brands have their ups and downs. A good brand will correct it's mistakes.

Whoa!! There's no Alpine Hate Club here baba. I still think Alpine makes great HU's. The only problem is this:- I dont like treble too much. Navin likes it far far less.

There are many people who think my Alpine sounds great when played flat. I prefer to tone down the highs, because i enjoy it more. I'm not changing my HU, and no reason to feel bad about buying an alpine. They still make good HU's:- probably someone at marketing realised, people prefer brighter, more forward sound.
It's probably a policy decision at Alpine. If it's brighter than you expect, turn down the treble amigo... chill. You have a nice HU

100% true what you say Navinji.

I am not blindly hating ALPINEs, I've started a bit of dislike towards them and will be more cheeky before buying anything from ALPINE. Before, I used to go blindly towards ALPINEs, It wont be the same again.

I was thinking of selling my HUs or gift it to somebody (Not to any TBHPians for sure ) from my family. I am going to decide this after I get to meet Gunbir or his type of an audio GURU.

My installer says I should'nt do away with the ALPINE HUs I have because they're very precious gems and wont be able to find them again in life. CDA9835 and DVA5210 are sold no more. Anything serious here???

BTW these can be fitted into my upcoming OHC with Hertz SUBs, 3 way compos, Audison and Alpine 1001 amps etc... (Wait for that to happen ). Hope it'll sound better in that car as it is more wide and will help in overall sound.
