Hi all, I am here with couple of questions again.
1. Are there any serious shortcomings/disadvantages/problems buying an used/second hand amplifier?
2. What are the things should i avoid while buying. also what price is good price? (i mean, say for an year old amp if it costs 10K in market for new, how much is the decent price)

Lastly, what is the best way to look for secondhand amplifier!?

if you are getting the amp for a known source then buy it and ask for a test warranty of 10-15 day.....to make sure the amp work fine....

the price depends on the condition of the amp....ranging from 40-60%

Question to Sam/ Navin or other seniors:
I know that the price of JBL CS 60.2 is Rs.5990 with B&W. I heard that HOT TRACKS in bangalore is selling it for Rs.4000 with B&W. Is this possible or is he trying to sell grey items with a fake bill?

Also I have a different opinion about speakers on doors. I cant hear the speaker right near my legs but can hear from the speaker on other door (In my Mitsu as well as OHC).

Gunbir,
Thanks very much for your time. Could you help me with contacts for a demo of HERTZ and FOCAL here in Madras?

Hi all..
i am new to team bhp...
i hav purchased a SX4 vxi.
for that i bought HU of clarion DB566USB and 6" 9" SRR6902 of clarion.
i now plan to buy two pairs of infiniti kappa 6.5" for doors.
my installing person told me that if i install 2 pairs the pairs in the rear door will get more power(or less actally iam not well versed in these..) and the sound quality will decrease..
i am not planning to buy amplifier..
so wat should i do????

@libis22, welcome to TBHP! Congrats on buying the new car

I have not seen the stock provision for speakers in the SX4 yet. Is there stock provision for speakers in the rear doors? And on the rear parcel tray?

Anyway, since you already have the Clarions install them in the rear parcel tray and install (1 pair of) the Kappas should go in the front doors. The 6x9s really should not be installed in the rear doors.

So you really don't need 2 pairs of Kappas.

More power? That's BS. The 6x9s will give best bass response in the rear parcel tray.

Hydra, the SX4 has 6.5" stock provision on front and rear doors. There is no provision for speakers on the parcel shelf.

Actually the provision is only in the doors. i have to cut out the parcel shelf for installing..
the thing is can i get more power if i install apair in rear doors ??
also will there be any problem of low quality of sound from the 6" speakers in rear door??
also is there any provision without cuttin the parcel shelf??

a-la Swift huh? So maybe some cutting will be needed if the 6x9s need to go on the rear-parcel shelf.

The plan for 2 x pairs of Kappas in the front & rear doors sounds real good now
