Your SWIFTy's 1/2 3/4 view is really good. Of course the 2523 looks really massive with the NEWGEN cab &the high lifted H/Ls. Nice photos

The AL Newgen cabs look suspiciously similar to the DAF CF. The CF in one facelift is almost the exact copy of Newgen.

May be similar. But the special feature of AL cab is the large wind screen. None of the other cabins on trucks have got this. This really adds to the SQ & MQ of the NEWGEN cabs. According to sources, the NEWGEN is born out of the panels from popular FES & the only cab in the AL stable. Nice to hear that DAF is copying design / styling from our AL.
to all LEYLA(I)NDIANS

BTW can you post couple of images of both AL & DAF cabs

That army truck looks more or less like the civilian version of that vehicle itself except the front bumper..

Hey, can anybody tell me if trucks with long rear overhangs are legal? I've seen cargo trucks in Haryana (eg:- Varuna Logistics, DGFC, Baroda Freight Carrier etc.) with atleast 3 meters of rear overhang!

Also, are the widened bodies on the motorcycle transporters legal? These babies sport some serious side-hangs (?).

Why just two wheelers, even rigid body car carriers and tractor carriers have a large amount of front and rear overhang. I earlier used to think that they are some modifications made by local bodybuilders, but I guess Tata itself has a large overhang chassis for sale in the form of the LPT 2515 EXL.

AFAIK the max overhang allowed is 60% of the wheel base. But body builders modify to have higher overhangs.

Thanks for sharing that. Still large overhangs seem a bit dangerous to me.

Comparing the trailers the lower half of the cabs (fog lamps, central wedges, mid-air scoops) are quite similar IMO.

This seems to be direct lift from the civilian version painted it in Military green.
Also this should be a model some where in 2002 or earlier as this has a twin spilt windscreen.
