WOW!!!! Now that is what you call BROADBAND!
While silly me is still stuck with a promised 4mbps BSNL connection, which actually delivers no more than 2mbps and too, when it fancies.

But I guess this is just one of the very few disadvantages of living far from the maddening crowd.

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

Currently on Tikona 1499/month 4MBPS unlimited plan. Or i thought so. I tested my speed & it came out to be 800 kbps. Called up support and was told that my plan has secondary policy. Although thye website does not list any such point. Anyway, i opened up the plan again and saw that speed after 80 GB FUP is the same but with a higher "Contention ratio". Can anybody please tell me what it is how it works out? Also, is there a non-FUP plan in Bangalore at all.

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

what is the feedback from ACT BB users here? How reliable is their service? turnaround times in case of faults? I am interested in taking it, but have read mixed feedback on various forums about the reliability & fix turnaround of ACT.

I am using ACT for last one year and quite happy with the services. There hasn't been any frequent downtime. On one occasion of internet going down, it was repaired in 2 hours. My review is positive for the speed, reliability and price!

Nothing to complain about. Both Uplink and Downlink offer 35 Mbps, good customer service, not much downtime. Wish they offered 50 Mbps

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

Hathway is now offering 100 GB download for about the same price (~2,500 / month). In the process of updating my plan . So used to the download speed now that it's hard to use slower connections.

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

I am on ACT 50 MbPS with FUP at 350GB. The best part is both upload and download speeds are similar and upload is not counted towards FUP calculation. Hardly had any disruptions in service and even when there is one, promptly get an SMS with approximate time for restoration.

Just saw this www.weinternet.in. The plans and prices look amazing to me. If anybody is using their services in Mumbai, please do let me know about their QoS.

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

I am paying 2500+ per month to Airtel for an 8 Mbps connection and this is what I get

complained to Airtel several times it works good for a few days at around 7500 kbps after they fix it.

Had contacted Hathway their rates are good but found a lot of negative feedbacks and reviews on Mouthshut.com, though their sales people are trying to convince me otherwise saying that their service has improved now, I don't know whether to believe them, I have just sent an inquiry to weinternet.

Does anyone subscribe to Hathway or weinternet in Mumbai? How is their service?

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

I recently moved in to my new flat and requested Airtel to shift the broadband + landline connection.

I was given a 5-day TAT but after almost 15 days there was no update. I had called almost everyday and i was given the same old response -

"technical issue is being looked into and we will update you. We need 3 more days".

Finally i canceled the connection and signed up with Yashtel, an ISP based out of Mysore. I opted for a 10mbps plan with 50GB download FUP costing 999/- per month.

Works seamlessly and speeds are super awesome.

I used to pay close to 1500 bucks when I was with Airtel for 4mbps/50GB plan.

Thanks Airtel, for dilly dallying on the shifting of my connection. I now have a faster connection and the service staff have an office next door too.
