re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

The date is given on one of the stickers on the c/b pack and on the back side of the tv itself. I asked out of curiosity, when we bought our panels (group buy on another forum) we got sets with dates ranging from July 10 to February'11. Was wondering what is the scene now nothing more than that.

re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

Some Samsung models have support for wireless LAN adaptor.

What exactly is this feature used for ? Can we stream video content wirelessly from laptop/smartphone to LCD TV through the LAN ?

Do other brands like LG and Sony LCD TVs also have this feature ? I am interested in 32 inch LCD models.

Yes, it is for DLNA (google for more details).

DLNA should be available in other brands too, also you could use a LAN cable too. The basic principle is that your TV should be connected to your home network, wired or otherwise!

Thanks.

How to find whether a particular model supports DLNA ?

Will the product specifications on the website explicitly mention DLNA ?

Ideally they should. Samsung and LG does for sure, not too sure about other brands though.

Take a look at this offer from flipkart supposedly a better seller than most others. They might be an offer of cash against delivery too.

Beat the queues this Republic Day with our offers on TVs and Appliances!

A glance at the specs of any set will clearly show whether the set is DLNA compliant or not, just see under 'Connectivity'.

These days all tvs that have the 'Smart' tag support DLNA. If looking at the TV set physically you can see a RJ45 LAN socket on the back panel and that is confirmation enough that the set will connect to LAN and supports/confirms to DLNA standards.

re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

Looking to purchase a 42inch TV with a budget upto 45K. Require full HD with DLNA, USB functions. LCD is not in consideration and looking to choose only between LED & Plasma. Close to finalising Panasonic Plasma TH-P42U30D which comes to around 42K. This model comes with Full HD & DLNA feature.

Any other alternatives or should I go ahead with this? Anyone who has purchased this model please give your input as no display piece available.

Thanks for the links Mayank .. I am still confused about whether should I go for LED or Plasma . LCD is out of consideration .

I checked out a Samsung 3D LED TV (Passive Tech) 40" . It is for AED 4000 around 59000 INR . I already have a Samsung 3D blue ray player which I picked from USA earlier this year .
Other model was LG 42" 3D LED (Passive) for around 52000 INR.
What you guys think about these 2 models or can you suggest me something better in similar budget

Finally picked LG LED 3D Smart TV 42" Model Number LW575S .

It is a Passive 3D and also got 2D to 3D .

Came with 4 3D glasses and Magic Remote which makes web browsing very easy .

Also picked Jurassic Park in 3D , it was an amazing exp to watch 3D movie in my living room . In one of the scenes Dinasour pounces towards the screen , it almost came alive . Paisa Vasool I will say

re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

I am thinking of purchasing a 40" LED, most probably from Samsung 6 series and I was DLNA.

Is there any other model I should be looking into?

Also I am curious if it's better to get a home theatre or some other PC speakers? As the main requirement is wireless rear speakers. Any suggestions on those?

You will have to purchase something worth 3 times the coupon amount to redeem it.
