I have a feeling that other mobile companies will going back to their drawing boards after the new one is unveiled.

In case anyone is facing Sync Backup issues with itunes 9.1.1.x ,
Ever since i updated itunes, my phone backup and sync used to fail after some time.
Finally fixed it by removing my entire music library and them trying again

WHERE did you get this from? AFAIK they don't sell unlocked anywhere?

And yes, ridiculous at it may sound that's a good price, because in India it goes for 35-41k depending on 16/32GB and I highly doubt the 4G will come to India right away because the 3GS was launched only a couple of months back.

Coming back to my question, where did you get this $400 deal from? Please lemme know asap because I need my relative to pick up one for me too.

iPhone 4G is out exactly in two days. Why would you want to buy a 3GS now? First wait to see if the new iPhone is launched at the apple event on 8th June.

And your US iPhone as of today is uncrackable.

Well, in Saudi Arabia, the iphone is sold as officially unlocked. It's a rule here, that no phone can be sold locked.

@ Tejas - I'm never really bothered about getting the latest one, and either ways it'll be really expensive / non-unlockable for some time / won't be available in India etc. I'd rather just settle for a 3GS if I can get one at a decent price (I would assume prices will fall when the new one gets out, I know it's coming in a couple of days yes

@ rg - I'm aware of that, I think same is the case in Australia too. But the phone is really expensive from what I heard.

Not sure about Australia, but here, the 3GS 32GB is SAR 3,000, approx INR 36,000.

Will wait till next week , another option is the HTC EVO 4G which is a 4G phone having a 4.3 inch screen front & back camera, and can connect upto 8 wifi devices simultaneously.
But I think in India it will take some time for 4G apps to come up.

You can purchase most phones without contract i.e unlocked phone here in US.

Unlocked and without a contract are two separate things. The iphone 3GS is sold without a contract here in India but is locked to the network (Airtel/Vodafone). I think in the US, even if you buy it contract free, it is locked to the AT&T network.

However, in UK, I believe you can get it officially unlocked by paying an extra fee. One of my friends went this route and now has an officially unlocked iphone

New iPhone launch is today, two variants expected: 32gb and 64gb, priced between $1000 and $1400.
I think that is expensive even by apple standards.

Quick question... Will Airtel network help activate a locked iPhone? Sorry if this is off topic.
