I believe you are using some version of Windows. if yes, connect your phone to your computer, then goto Device manager, expand universal serial bus controller, check if the Apple controller is shown. Right click on it, uninstall.

Restart the computer, connect your phone again and wait for the install to get completed. Once done, open iTunes and check.

I myself use the 3GS bought from Malaysia. But dont have or seen another iPhone to compare the screen tint.

IMHO, the screen tint is controlled by both hardware and software. But using software, we can do wonders with the screen.

I have scheduled today to update my 3GS to iOS 4.3
Backed up Notes, SMS, Address Book manually through iPhoneBrowser. But think there is no point in doing it since I would be required to restore them only after a JB.

I think i should do a restore once in a while otherwise i keep accumulating SMSs.
Photos worth saving anyway get backed up.

Most probably, I will setup my 3GS afresh and wont do any restore stuffs.

I restored from backup. Didn't want to go back to downloading all the apps. But i will need to update them all over again though. My backup was somewhat old.

I have not had much chance to explore the updated iOS. But i do see some extra options in Settings, like Personal Hotspot.

Brother all the phones i am talking about had 4.1 version. i have seen the glaring difference (without any screen guard) with my own eyes and according to me its because of the hardware and just for experiment you compare three or four sets from different regions than u will see the difference yourself.

And how about the browsing? Safari is now fired with a new Nitro JS engine. Any difference. And also heard there is a change now in vibrate for SMS. Do check and update here.

yesterday my wife tried upgrading my iPhone4 to iOS 4.3 using iTunes.
But it's almost 14 hrs still it's upgrading and shows 30 mts to complete.
whether it takes this much time to upgrade?

I have not had a chance to browse extensively yet, but it does appear to be faster. I opened facebook and of course TBHP in the browser and they both loaded pretty fast.

It took me close to 3 hrs to download the file through iTunes with the phone hooked up. I use a 512Kbps connection. The update file is 669 MB if I remember correctly.

I think the difference is iP4 supports hotspot feature through USB/WiFi/Bluetooth while the 3GS supports it only through USB. I am not sure about this though.
