Guys, how much is the battery life of iphone 4s :

1. when 2g data is enabled full time .

On an average,
1. With 2G I get around 16 - 17 hours
2. With 3G its only around 8 hours.

re: The iPhone Thread

Guys please advise which is THE best iphone5 bumper cover? I am going to be ordering it from the US.

I have see the Draco Design ones, its a good option but makes the phone look a bit odd. Anything that is nearly as good?

To be very honest even i have been searching for one without much luck, draco seems to be quite good. Wish it was available in India.

Ensure you pick one which has projected rim, that is the most important part in a bumper

2G/3G data enabled does make a difference but it all depends on how much are you using the phone and for what purpose are you using it.
For instance a game may drain the same amount of battery in 20 mins that a phone call won't drain in 40 mins.
Surfing may drain 1% in 5-7 mins while chatting on whatsapp may drain the same in 3-4 mins.

Depends on a lot of factors but generally speaking for mixed average use, it will take you through the day.

No, actually 3g sucks the battery most, followed by Wi-Fi, and then edge.
Every manufacturer will give you different figures for 2g and 3g usage in their specs.
The standby may be the same, but life on the network will vary.

I understand that and i was basically referring to the standby time as it also suffers depending ob the data network you are on.

Manufacturers generally provide 3G/2G talk-time statistics.
In the end what matters the most is what you are using on the phone.
No one can estimate the battery life for a particular phone as everyone has different needs.

Even in sites like gsmarena you can find the statistics for the same but they are always segregated. Eg. Video/Gamin/web surfing- all have timings of independent usage.

My $.02 on standby.

The services that run behind the scene are biggest culprit, apps using these if not programmed correctly.

Screen size, brightness and GPU/CPU and Radio (3G/2G).

Did you know: ads in Free apps eat quite a bit of your data and battery. To me are more expensive than certain apps for life of the app on your device.

Include network strength. Weaker the network, more the battery drain. I face weak network at my place, particularly at nights. So, I put the phone in airplane mode in the nights.

Yes i just upgraded both my phones, apart from Maps in Japan,it fixes a bug, where in a user could bypass passcode,
Was anyone able to replicate that Bug?After breaking my iPhone 3GS's back cover once,i got this for my iPhone 5 yesterday, offers awesome protection without making the phone too bulky.

The Draco case doesn't protect the screen at all. Have you explored the lifeproof case for iphone 5.

There are a number of sellers selling lifeproof cases on ebay and amazon but most of them are high quality fakes. So beware of these fake ones.

Thanks guys but these are all really bulky options. I usually never use covers with my phones but the sides of the iphone5 show scratches very easily hence i have to get one. Any other options that don't add much bulk on the phone?

I tried to look around for transparent protectors like you have for the screen and back.If you can find such protectors,it would be awesome, other than that you can try sticking transparent sticky tape, and i agree, its extremely prone to scratches
