Re: The iPhone Thread

Looks like Apple has fumbled. iPhone8 isn't garnering much interest as 6S onward they all look the same. The morning after every launch we would see long queues at the Apple Store Dubai Mall, no longer true. IOS 11 has slowed down my phone, chewing up the battery double quick. Noticing few glitches reported in this thread on my iPhone too. Installing 11.0.1 fix. Lets hope it works. Else it's a reset, and a long hard look at the Samsung S8 which my wife is using, and me...envying!

Coming to the newborn. They should have called the iPhone 10 as iPhone X. Now, the 9 will be DOA. Facial recognition isn't a wow factor for me. The notch in the display is also a downer. How could Apple get it so wrong?

Which iPhone are you on? I am on 6S Plus and I have absolutely no problems as far as performance is concerned. I solved mine after doing a restore via itunes and then restoring the backup.

I suppose the queue's will be back closer to the X's availability. In anycase its not a factor in my purchase. That said I agree that iOS 11 has been pretty buggy and I cannot fathom why have they removed the 3d Touch gesture for multitasking (which will be back in a subsequent release as per apple) and the cursor tracking feature by pressing on the keyboard.

As for Samsung, I recommend that you jump to Google Pixel if you are thinking of jumping the ship.

Re: The iPhone Thread

I'm using 5S, 6S and the 7. Doing the restore right now, like you. But a bit annoyed that this happened.

Yes, the Pixel2 looks like a worthy contender.

A bit confused. The X is indeed 10 in Roman. I don't think there will be a 9. Something to do with 9 considered unlucky by the Japanese, which is why there is no Windows 9 too. But I could be wrong as this was informed over a Whatsapp forward.

There is no 9 because 10 ate (8) 9.

Re: The iPhone Thread

11.0.1 released, supposed to be a security patch but for me biggest improvement is text inside whatsapp etc has gone back to being the normal small from the ugly big one which it had became after the last update. This time i updated on the phone itself since it was a patch and working fine without any issues.

Next year will be interesting.

Apple might have to go to 11; 7 to 11 in two years! There was no 7s, no 9 by your logic and we already had X (10).

How about an I in front of the X, IX. That should be an easier way than sell the iPhone 9. :LOL

On a serious note, with the new update IOS 11.0.1, my battery drain seems to have stopped. Clap.

Re: The iPhone Thread

If they do come with 11 next year and 12 the year after and so on henceforth, it would be easy to remember the iterations year wise. This was the 10th year, so 10, in the 11th year iPhone 11 etc etc.

The iPhone Thread

Guys,
I have a weird issue with iOS 11 on iPhone 5S.
Fiat Linea 2009 Blue&Me version 5.X is not working properly and most of the time it's not paired automatically and if it's connected, voice is too loud and cracked.
I have updated with iOS 11.0.1 too. Still facing the same issue.
It's paired well with SENA sm5 without any issues.
Blue&Me is a boon for me and I used to take official call over it.
Hope that the issue is because of Bluetooth version 3 & lower. iOS 11 is built for Bluetooth 4 & above and earlier versions are not supported fully.

Appreciate all your assistance to find a fixation.

PS. I have checked Blue&Me with iOS 10.X. It's functioning without any fuss.

Re: The iPhone Thread

I already blocked an iPhone 8 for 29th delivery with some advance payment. Getting second thoughts now after reading some of the posts here. iP-X is simply too expensive!!

If you are moving from 6/x or older 8 isworth it, good deals with cash back and exchange. If you are on 7 do think once more unless you get great exchange price or sale, not worth the money for 10.

Got it - thanks. This is actually for the wife. Moving her from android back to iOS after a 2 year gap.

I'm on the 6s myself and really happy to just continue with it for another full year. Will take a call next sept. Although between the Citi credit card 8k cash back offer plus current value of 18k or so for my 6s, I do get tempted to upgrade to 8+ / iPX myself at times.

Re: The iPhone Thread

I have an iPhone 7 Plus. I purchased this with the Citibank cashback of Rs 5,000 and a generous buyback offer for my two year old iPhone 6 Plus this February.
Would only make the switch to iPhone X if the Citibank cashback is Rs 10,000 as it is for the iPhone 8 / 8 Plus and I get a great buyback offer for my 7 Plus.

Would it be wise to exchange my 8 month old iPhone 7 Plus and go for the iPhone X.
Advise would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Is this locked to the Jio number or can you buy via Jio and use on another phone?
