See if Krusell do a case for it. Had a few of these for different phones over the years and they are well made.

CM7 SD Build are very good, very smooth, but I love the HTC sense UIs with Froyo. Can someone recommend a freeware full screen caller id.

Is it possible to put HTC sense ui on top of Ginger bread ?

Re: My new friend - HTC HD

Update: I tried the Mango ROM [ROM] WP7 7592 Green Mango with market place [07/07]. While MarketPlace, Wifi worked, the cellular network was down quite often - it gave 'Invalid Sim' error. So I went back to NoDo ROM, this time [14/07][ROM] blackSideSeven v1.12.7401 NoDo. So far its quite stable now.

Do you know if android on HD2 is any different from a native android phone? especially running productivity apps from google itself.

I want to switch to android and looking for a more versatile phone. I might end up buying it if it works.

I am currently on LG expo (WM6.5) with almost the same specs but could use google's ecosystem if I switch to android.

@vivekiny2k - Where would you find a HD2 now? And yes it does run Android as well as any other native Android phones.

Re: My new friend - HTC HD

Sure one beautiful piece of engineering. I had one a year back. Used CM 7.1 and Windows dual boot. Then after a lot of playing around it finally died on me.

However remember, some of the pieces had heating issues. Mine was one of them. It was a T Mobile 1 Ghz version if I remember correctly. The same was sold in Europe as a 512 Mhz with the same board and the BGA in the faster one heated up and caused issues I guess.

The difference between the Euro model and the American model was not processor speed. It was the amount of built in RAM. The American version had 1Gb and the Euro model had 512Mb as per the specs, but it had another additional 64Mb which was locked and could be unlocked by changing the boot loader. So in effect the Euro version had 576Mb RAM.
