Any idea about the Samsung S8. When is it expected, any new features, and is it dual SIM.

The launch is expected on March 29. Not sure when it will be available for purchase here. Dual SIM is expected since they have always had it. Don't know about new features , but there have been many leaks about what it will look like. They have moved the fingerprint sensor to the back and the front is almost entirely taken up by the display, with small bezels at top and bottom and almost no side bezels.

My Moto X Style is now consuming batteries. It is barely giving me half a day. So it will have to be replaced, and i will prefer either a high end htc (no dual SIM) or a Samsung.

Hi,

Many a times I feel like having an option to get Fish eye or wide angle lens for mobile. Did anyone really using something like below ones? Any feedback folks? Any other suggestion? I'm using Galaxy S4.

You should also check Oneplus 3T. I think it offers the best value for money deal.

Any idea where can I get the Redmi 3s Plus in Bangalore ?

Tried the flash sales for 4A & 3S, but tough luck.

I'm fairly surprised. Considered doing a factory reset to the OEM version and disabling updates? Thats the only proven way to reduce the aging experienced on most smartphones

Between the Ultra U and S8, go for the S8 eyes closed. It might become available offline soon after launch, so no problems about getting it shipped anywhere.

Re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

My Samsung Tablet (G2 P3100, or most commonly Tab 2) fell in a bucket full of water. The service center inspected it and declared its motherboard as dead. However I suspect their assessment, because when I myself opened the tablet at home, I could notice that the battery was not even removed to inspect the motherboard. They're now quoting Rs 8000/- for a new motherboard, which I do not want to invest (at least for now).

So now, I want to buy a new phone. And I wish to buy a Windows phone. My needs are fairly simple.

1. Gmail should work flawlessly (sending, receiving, downloading and viewing of various types of attachments).

2a. Tethering must be possible.

2b. Should be able to connect with my Altis. The Team BHP app must work.

3. Music output must be good.

4. WhatsApp (I use this app solely for the Tax practitioners group that I am in), occasionally Facebook.

I don't need any other social networking, gaming, photography apps. I also have a question regarding the RAM of Nokia Windows Phones. Their RAM are limited to 512 MB, as compared to 1 or 1.5 GB of the Androids. Why this difference?

Hi all,

I have a query about earphones with call accept/reject feature. I recently purchased a Sony earphone to be used with my Lenovo phone.
I would like to know if is possible to make a quick dial to any number by pressing the call button on the earphone?
Thanks.

The issue was with the VoLTE on RJio. Once I got rid of it, things asre normal. With 4G on all the time, I am getting about 15-18 hours.

Is the S8 on offer from Samsung a dual or single SIM version? No clarity whatsoever.

Specs are there on this page - https://shop.samsung.com/in/galaxy-s8.html

Seems to be a hybrid dual sim. (1 sim + 1 micro-sd or 2 sims)

Re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

Can someone recommend a stylish/ fancy case for S7 edge (this is for the missus).

I would add a requirement to have decent amount of protection from my side on it. It is a delicate phone after all.
