I bought it's last generation speakers. That is z-5300. Still having trouble setting them up with my laptop as i am not able to get 5.1 sound.

If you are searching for the location of speakers. The manual says the following.

'Place the front speakers on either side of monitor at equal distance from each other as from you. Angle the speakers to face you. Place other satellite speakers behind you and about same distance apart as front speakers. Depending on where you place it, adjust the stand to direct the sound towards you. For best sound quality, place the woofer on floor beneath your desk/table with minimum of 6 inches of all round the woofer for ventilation.'

Hope this helps.

Kiterunner, junk the Bose speakers.
Try to get an audition of Audioengine A5's - these are my pick, for listening to music. They're ~20,000... and WAY better than bose.

Yogi, where did you pick up your A5's from? I've been thinking about purchasing them for a while now..

I run a simple JBL 2.1 speakers on the computer.

Spending anything more than this is senseless for a person like me.

Am using Creative Inspire 5.1 speakers. The motherboard in my CPU already has a 7.1 sound-card inbuilt.

I've got 4 year-old Creative Inspire 4400 4.1 . Am not doing them justice, really, as I'm lacking a decent sound card. But it produces noise without having to spend additional bucks, so good enough for me.

An observation - People here, according to the polls, prefer either 2.1s or 5.1s....why the hatred for 4.1s ?

Using creative inspire 5.1 5200 from my college days. Produces nice sound, and anyway I don't need anything better (as my room and computer placement is not acoustically perfect).
At present it is paired with creative x-fi extreme gamer 7.1 card. Started with SB live 24 bit 5.1.

At present using the in built speakers in my dell latitude laptop. There is a long due ambition of a good alteclansing 5.1 speakers or Boaz speakers. Waiting patiently for the time to buy.

I just have a pair of Audio Engine 5 powered speakers. Much better than most of the run-of-the-mill 5.1 or 7.1 speaker sets...

Currently running a 4.1 Creative Insipire 4500 to power my desktop and TV through it. It is adequate given the size of my drawing room. But more is never enough

Looking for a slighter more powerful setup which offers better clarity.

Thats great! For how much did u got these.Because recently couple of weeks back in Lamington Road shop I heard a salesman quoting Rs.15000/- to someone over phone. Thats mouthwatering deal I think. Because on Logitech Website the same is quoted as Rs.22,995/-. It has got its own decoder so u can have many inputs. For placements just log in to THX website if u have not already done.

Bye the way for last couple of years I am using Altec Lansing VS3251( last 51 refers to 5.1 set up) with built in soundcard of motherboard with 71 w RMS. For my small bedroom of 10 x 10 it is sufficient. Sub is very good at default level, but now I feel the satellites are not upto the mark or has my liking developing.
- thanks Sanjay.
