Oh.. old thread revived.
Currently using Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers.

Was highly impressed by the compact ones from BOSE. Their waveguide technology really produces bass from even compact speakers!

Absolutely.
I too once heard Bose desktop speakers and their base seemed to defy all logic and physics. Even though I would never like to own any Bose after reading all those "bose-bashing" reviews and articles, but still this pair of speakers did impress me a lot!

Guys,

I need some help playing DTS songs on my PC. I have a Creative Soundblaster card attached via co-ax to my logitech z5500. I recently downloaded a few songs of Eagles in the '.dts' format. When I play them on VLC the speaker display shows DTS but there is no sound. When I play it in Zoom Player the speaker shows Dolby Digital. The Songs are supposedly 44.1Khz DTS. There is another song from the Tamil cinema 'Boys' which is 48KHZ DTS and it plays perfectly (Shows DTS) on Zoom player. Please help me figure it out. I am unable to get these songs played in DTS. Also, I have another cd image file which has some songs in DTS. facing the same situation as before. Any help guys?

cheers!
