About 80 CAD$ max, just over 3,000 rupees. But theses speakers are so popular among students here that some are even available at less thn half price. I think I got mine for around 50-55, including taxes.

Iv not heard too many 2 speaker set ups but the jbls you get with compaqs are pretty good. theyre a bit pricey though.

why dont you want a sub anyways? space problem?

space isnt really an issue.i cant have thumping music in the office which the sub will produce.i want it to be really clear and at the same time have decent bass at times. but no sub for sure.how much are the JBLs for.any model no.

many subs have a control for the bass level so you dont have to have thumping bass all the time

I use Altec Lansing ATP3s [2.1, (sealed sub)] running off an Audigy 2 NX external soundcard. Been running 'em for 3 years now. Good tight bass and nice mids. The satellites have a mid-bass driving (firing down) and two tweeters. The sub gives good, tight bass. Great for listening to music. Next best for movies and games. The bass doesn't get boomy or uhhh... "drowny", for lack of a good word.

im using the z2300 from logitech the 2.1 speakers cause i mainly listen to music.
@khanak, go for the z5500 as the sound is amazing especially for gaming and movies. but u will need a good sound card that supports 5.1 (creative ones are good)
have not heard the klipsch but reviews say they are excellent too
the megaworks wasnt that impressive when i listened to them, id go with the z5500.
u can get them cheaper in the US (online stores) than buying from canada
