@khanak, go for the z5500 as the sound is amazing especially for gaming and movies. but u will need a good sound card that supports 5.1 (creative ones are good)
have not heard the klipsch but reviews say they are excellent too
the megaworks wasnt that impressive when i listened to them, id go with the z5500.
u can get them cheaper in the US (online stores) than buying from canada
yea dude im going in for the z5500s for sure

according to reviews the klipsch speakers sound better but but there seems to be an amp problem in all of them where the amp blows a fuse or somtihng.

the only issue with the z5500s will be getting them back home. they wiegh 30kgs !!!

Bring this thread back to life guys. What is the meaning of driving (firing down) ?

Also the ATP3 subwoofer is not enclosed in a wooden box. Does this have any effect on lows ? I see this in case of JBL Multimedia speakers as well....

Can some knowledgable people throw some light on the same...

Thanks

Bullfrog, firing down means this: See that hump on the bottom of the satellites? That's a midrange facing downwards, enclosed in a small chamber. The sound out is directed towards whatever surface the satellite is sitteing on. That's what I meant by "firing down".

The ATP3 sub is enclosed in an MDF enclosure. There is some plastic garnishing/show panels in front and back. For the rest, it is a sealed MDF box, with the subwoofer driver also firing down.

This unit gives real tight bass. Only problem is that you can't crank it beyond say, 70% to 80% volume, without distortion setting in (if the music is very bassy). But I've never had the need use it beyond a max of 50% anyway. Quite loud enough even if you're sitting upto 6-8 feet away.

for those looking at a 2.0 setup check out the klipsch promedia 2.0 . once it breaks in, the sq imo is better than the mx5021 with none of the boom. sells slightly less than 7k. this is great for music

the distributer is in pune, called gautam agencies. address and other details are on the klipsch website, or i can dig it up if need its there in my mailbox somewhere. you can mail them and ask if they have a dealer in bangalore sales@gautamagencies.com i got mine when i was there but i think they ship across india as well.

but whatever be the model i would suggest that you demo a set before taking any decisions
