Most micro cards come with a regular SD card adapter like this one, which you can insert into a PC SD card slot. (assuming your pc has one )

If you dont have it , just pick up a low capacity cheap micro sd card which will come with a card adapter like this one below
Free Adapter
Just in case there's an accident and I have to show some evidence to the authorities, it will be useful if I could access the videos from my phone, as a laptop may not always be available on hand.

I can't read a travelogue or an Official Review on any other device other than a PC/Laptop, different strokes for different folks

Well if a PC is obsolete then use a Tab. Many of them come with SD card slots

You can keep an old phone in the car which has an mSD card slot.

Or you can get a Wifi enabled Dashcam that comes with ios/android apps that can stream to the phone
check : BlackVue DR650S-2CH-IR Dashcam

Or use a phone itself as the dash cam
Google Play has couple of Apps that make your phone into a dashcam.

Or get a USB c type hub which takes an SD card
like this one http://www.amazon.in/dp/B01ERAS56Y?psc=1

But for folks like me , the laptop is still very much what I use the most.

My old phone does not have a card slot either. Looking for a cheaper option than buying a new dash cam. I could buy one of the readers with the old micro USB port and use it with my old phone. But would prefer if there was a solution that works with my current phone.

Edit: There seem to be some readers with type c interface on Amazon which I couldn't find earlier. I'll check them out and update

Hi Sheel,

Being a migrant from 4 years of Samsung usage to the One Plus 3, I can tell you that I am really happy with the OP3. My concerns of switching over to a 5.5 incher was very similar to yours, however, within a few days I go used to it, and am now enjoying the awesome media capabilities of a relatively larger screen. Its a great value for money device.

Having said this, the OP3 is way more compact than most other devices in this size category, very light and altogether an extremely svelte device which has a great in-hand feel. The premium construction goes a long way in achieving this. As Ive said several times on this thread, go for it with eyes closed. Dont worry about the size, its perfectly easy to adapt to the 5.5 inch genre without much sweat.

Thanks This post for sure helps.

I do not use tempered glass or covers on my phone as I feel it dilutes the experience of using the device, hope it is built tough to not require a case/cover. And don't remember dropping my phones either.

I am a bit apprehensive about size because I do ride a bit and in a Jeans pocket, they can be cumbersome, especially my older Levi's, the new ones do have deeper pockets.

And it isn't available as of now at Amazon. Are these devices available at reliance e-store and or e-zone? These are two stores I can have access to in a while.

I do use a tempered glass on the OP3, however, its probably not a must since it comes with Gorilla Glass 4, and given that you don't tend to drop your phones. Jeans pocket may be a tight fit, but not impossible to fit in.

As far as I know, OP3 does not yet sell through physical stores, so you might need to wait it out till its back in stock on Amazon. Happy shopping!

By the way, amazon shows this as being in stock: http://www.amazon.in/OnePlus-Soft-Go...113746447&th=1

CEO says they would stick with amoled. How did anyone get the date for the launch? And it is expected to be costlier I suppose.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Hi guys,

I'm in the market for an Android phone, and need your help in choosing one. Here are my requirements:

1) Budget : 20k max (the lower the better of course, while satisfying the basic requirements, as below).

2) A good (not necessarily full HD) 5.5" AMOLED display (since a major use will be as an e-reader in light-on-black format).
( I understand that this pretty much ties me to a Samsung !)

3) Good After-Sales Service (I'm likely to keep it as long as it runs reliably).

4) Good battery life (preferably with a removable battery).

5) 4G with VoLTE.

6) Exclusive microSD slot.

7) Up-to-date OS (that will be Android-M for now, apparently).

With the above in view, I'm probably looking at a Samsung J7 (2016), albeit with a 16k price tag which looks hefty for its specs.

Now it gets interesting, with an imminent launch of the Lenovo Vibe P2 which sounds *much* better just looking at its specs, -- better on almost all counts, except perhaps the non-removable battery. And the price is likely to be close too! So it should have been a no-brainer, except for point # 3 above, which is likely to be the deal breaker, given Lenovo's reputation in this regard. So I'm in a dilemma!

So what do you experts suggest? Given the requirements, what are my choices? Any first-hand experience with the Lenovo service? Any other options? Thank you very much for any help.
