I don't have any personal experience of the above phones but have quoted it after checking specifications and user reviews. Last edited by RR96 : 24th October 2021 at 23:11.

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() There have been several posts about Samsung S20 FE 5G. People who have bought one, how has been the experience so far? Any concern with the phone's performance or camera picture quality? Edit: Since it lacks 3.5mm jack, what earphones do you use, preferably wired ones? Like the tap to scan option while taking photos of documents but missing macro mode. As for the headphone jack, i decided not to sell my LG v40 and i use that as a hi-res DAP ![]()

No issues performance wise and it is a joy to use the AMOLED screen with the 120Hz refresh rate. I easily get more than a day's usage with a single charge. This will get 3 Android OS upgrades and so it should get Android 13 as well and so can be used for 3 years atleast. Quote:
Moved to this from LG V40 and LG V40 has been my walkman since then. Trying to see if I can get hold of a LG V60 from US so that I can make use of the LG QDAC for many more years. Last edited by whencut86 : 27th October 2021 at 17:19. Reason: correction

Even though I like to take pictures, I am nowhere close to being an enthusiast, so this camera performance is more than sufficient for me. I think the photos from this are comparable to the S10e ones, with the exception of the ultra wide shots, which feels over saturated (the last picture below). Other than that, I am completely happy. The macro mode is something new and I am enjoying it a lot. Here are a few samples: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Narrowed this down to Facebook. The interesting thing is that I have not uninstalled the App. Just signed out of it. Leaves me with 50% battery charge even after 24 hours from being unplugged from the charger! I am not sure how or why this app causes mdnsd to go haywire. This really is the Achilles heel of Android compared to iOS (Was an iOS user previously). I use the app from time to time so is a bit of a headache to keep signing in and out each time. Its clearly some update but it does puzzle me what this update has done to this particular phone. There are several dozen models of Android phones out there and I am sure most run the same Facebook app. Last edited by sandeepmohan : 3rd November 2021 at 04:39. |

mDNS helps apps to connect to your local devices without any configuration. Usually it's a pretty helpful one, say for example to connect to your chromecast or your local printer. May be in this case FB app is constantly scanning for what's there on your local network. We know FB is pretty aggressive when it comes to data collection and god knows what they might be up to. Have you tried using their lite app? Or if there are finer permission controls on android like you have on iOS, you may try denying FB access to your local network devices and that would help. If you don't care about instant notifications, simply use Facebook from your phone Chrome browser. Once you sign in, it doesn't even ask you again for sign in. It works as good as the app in all other respects, without the overhead of app permissions, privacy issues, battery hogging, etc. You could then uninstall the app. Facebook apps are notorious in terms of the sheer number of permissions they need, and it makes me uncomfortable.
