Lowest price I have seen so far for Note is 29700 from Sulekha, this deal beats it by ~2500, good buy IMO.

Guys need some urgent help:

So last month (and again today morning) I cleaned up my wife's email address book (instead of just the phone). Stupid android apps and silly me (the phone warned that i was syncing too many deletes).

Android allows us to restore contacts upto 30 dyas back but that is not feasible (since I had already messed up over a month back) to get ALL the contacts.

I was thinking if there is any way to farm the old emails for contacts (maybe download headers via IMAP), then save the address book to a CSV, and import it back into gmail.

What do you guys think? Any ideas/suggestions?

The wife is quite understandably livid so any quick heads up will be greatly appreciated

That's why I keep a local copy of all the contacts using myPhoneExplorer. If everything in google cloud is lost, then I have that back up at least. Anything of that sorts was maintained?

If that was done, I would not be bothering you/BHPians with this question. That said, a current google restored 30 day old snapshot has been saved to CSV

Please now solve my predicament!

Emails are easy to find..just search the social networks sites you visit often.

Phone numbers are a bit difficult..IMO

A suggestion. NEVER play with the wife`s phone or address book..it would not matter of it needed cleaning up..

I would crawl the sent items and may be inbox and retrieve the already used (though old) email ids. Takes time but yes, you can get them back. No idea on how to get the numbers.

If you had a nandroid backup, you could have restored it to get all contacts back!

Guys - Samsung has come out with one more small firmware update for the S3 which i installed. Couldnt make out new features or stability etc. One thing which i noticed that we can now set the screen brightness by pulling down the notification bar. Other S3 users, psl update. Baseband is DDLF3 and Build#XXBLFB.

Open GMAIL.
Go to Contacts.
There you will find "imported" tab or something.
See if it works

My android phone is more than two years old and stuck on 2.1 version. Though it works fine and can service two more years.

I am also considering to buy a tablet, but can either buy a tablet or phone not both.
I have a budget of 25K to spare, and I have been looking forward to galaxy nexus phone and nexus 7 tablet lunch in India, but its a long wait it seems.

I am also in need of a GPS navigator as the phone I have cant handle navigation apps due to outdated OS and hardware.

Suppose Galaxy nexus and nexus 7 are both lunched in India, what do you guys suggest from following options.

(1) Buy Galaxy nexus which would also act as navigator.
(2) Keep my existing phone and buy Nexus 7, and since it should not cost more that 15K, spent rest in a PND.

Off topic, I am also keen to buy PS3, so option 3 would be to ditch first two options and get a PS3 move bundle. Any takers for this?

Yeah but i cleaned it all by mistake in the morning. Anyways i solved it myself.

I also updated. There is the extra volume button when you are in a call. The phone button has disappeared in contacts now.

The battery is no different. Since the OS is AOSP and does not have any thing related to samsung there are no SMemo and other samsung related applicatons. Spen works but you need alternate applications from Market for Memo and other needs.CM9 will never have SMemo and other samsung applications.

Since you are on Rooted stock here is my preferred steps:-

- Download PC ODIN.
- Download a GB ROM. If possible all three files and downgrade to GB.
- Root and load CWM in GB
- Flash a abyss Kernal to be safe.
- Download CM9 and move to SD card
- Clear dalvik, cache, factory reset(only after GB and Abyss)
- Flash CM9
- Flash Gapps

You are good to go and enjoy the wonderful CM9.

There is also a lean version of CM9 by Asylum. I am going to try that as well. Its non Wipe and hence its fun to keep moving across different CM9 based roms.
