How is the galaxy s2 & s3 sound quality at the other end?

I am consistently noticing very poor sound quality when two of my friends with s2 and s3 call. I struggle to listen to what they are saying.

Any such feedbacks?

Urgent help. The wi-fi on my SGS 2 has stopped working all of a sudden.Wi-fi mac address is shown but when i switch on wi-fi,it doesn't show on the screen notification near signal strength. What could be wrong?I updated using kies last month and ICS has been full of some issues now and then.

Edit: Started working again. But i must say,4.0.3 is not good.Too many times my phone has hung up. :-|

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

How I do format the SD card on the Galaxy Ace?

The option is currently greyed out.

@clevermax.

THe sound quality is something of a hit and miss. The stock Samsung ROM sound quality seems to be on the lower side while some custom roms are good.

THe ICS sound quality looks improved because my brothers S2 in GB was horrible but now in ICS sounds better

Similarly my wifes S2 in stock was like talking to someone in a well. But now in Checkrom appears better.

I feel the noice reduction routine is interfereing with the sound quality

Click unmount first and then the format option will be available.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I use an HTC Desire V with ICS since a week. I mostly attend calls through handsfree or bluetooth whenever outdoors. My main issue is not finding an auto screen lock application. Right now the screen lock is done through either pressing the power button or touching the soft key of power on screen. The screen unlocks as a call is received and remains unlocked until its physically pressed or touched. Any solutions to keep it auto locked with a timer ?

There should be an option under display settings to adjust the screen timeout value. Do you see an option called 'Sleep' after x minutes of inactivity?

Thanks for the suggestion, I always thought its not connected to the unlocking happening by receiving a call. Right now I have kept it to 15 seconds, hope that serves as a resolution to the issue/concern.

Is this 9100 or 9100G version? I saw Homeshop displaying the 9100G version.

I got it 10 days back from a normal retailer for 27.5k. Its the 9100 version with ICS out of the box.

Apparently 9100G has better battery life and less heating , as it's CPU from Texas instruments is clocked at a lesser freq Compared to the Exynos one of 9100. But the GPU is only single core when compared to the quadcore one in 9100, and it seems 9100 gets more Dev support as well.

This I believe is the 9100G.

Yes - I heard that the 9100 is available with several dealers now. It seems the item that Flipkart is selling for around the same price (27.5K) is also a 9100.

I was also looking for a 9100, but then the 4K price difference was very tempting, so decided to get the 9100G.

Finally I got ICS update for my HTC sensation. I have been waiting for long. Not explored it much yet.

Fantastic buddy! You ported a JB rom to the google nexus one. Which ROM are using and how is the experience? Positive negatives I what to hear it all.
I'm still on CM 7 2.3.7 on my N1 dint even port ICS for the fear of losing out features due to hardware disadvantages.

So this is real.. Samsung top end models do not give proper voice quality at the other end of the call. Every time these Samsung friends call, I find myself going to a quiet place with my other ear plugged with my finger Still it is difficult to decipher what they are saying.
