I watched the Live Webcast of BB10 Z10. Must say it's now on equal playing grounds with iOS and Android.

I personally feel it's way better than both of them

The live webcast was amazing and Alicia Keys on the stage made it even better..

I do wish RIM -now- Blackberry all the best.. and the best news of the day, all current playbook's will be upgraded to BB-10

Looks ok, the Z10. Seems to have got it nearly right this time. The features are well thought out. If BB is able to maintain this momentum they definitely will be back in the game. Only time will well how good the package is.

Vivek B did fumble with the camera function during the launch - was it nervous hands or the device?

Somehow I feel that the Z10 seems to have lost on the "bling/ premium" factor, or is it just me?

I have a bold 9900, I am running the blackberry EDGE data plan from vodafone Rs.399 one, If i get a 3G data plan will BBM work?.
Will BBM work on a 3G data plan on the bold 9900 ?

Sure but you need to get a 3G+BB plan. Check with voda on this.

For 299 more you can get a 3G plan. Its an add on plan for your BB plan, with some 1gb of browsing usage.

The newly announced Blackberry 10 devices will work on the regular data plans used by the iphones and androids as well as the complete BIS plan (only BBM or only email plans wont work)

But most people will consider the BIS plans because they provide unlimited 3G at cheaper rates without any FUP.

If iPHONE prices its phone for 60K, no such adjectives are used but, when BB prices its newest and better than iphone model for 45K, it becomes a whopping price

Anyways, i was expecting the Z10 to be priced around 40K so i guess in grey it should be around that and in a few months, the prices will drop down further bringing it to much saner levels

The price might be right according to them. But in India where you have people inclined to android/LAGdroid options cheaper than Z10 and the people spoiled by larger displays and play store, the Z10 will not sell much. They surely need to consider the price for India because it is an important market for them.

Totally agree with you on that. Blackberry's two emerging markets are India and Phillipines and bringing a high-end phone like Z10 is a wrong move but, then this story is all over the news and BB knows that too.

Z10 launch for India can be considered as a strategic and branding launch with cheaper handsets releasing over the year.

What BB needs is to launch a BB8520 type of a handset for the masses but, it has to be a faster & fluidic handset with BB10 to set the cash registers on fire !!!

God knows how long will BB take to bring that. But one good thing they did is to allow generic data plans for everything including BBM.

Exactly. It will surely happen. They are going to get a feeler from selling this phone first, and then will plan on their pricing and what models to release when.

I also think it was a bad move by coming out with an all touch phone first.

The problem with launching brand new OS10 devices is the huge pile of OS7 devices in the market. The trade would react rather negatively and would result in chaos.

Slowly phasing out older models and bringing in newer ones are good ideas

Besides when you are coming out of hibernation you need to bring out something with a lot of noise and hoopla and not a 10k phone.

Feb 25th or so would be the launch. Can't wait to go for it

And fyi orders are piling up for the Z10 out here!
