I rebooted but, unread email icon still shows up on top when iam in an app. I checked the messages icon and even there it doesnt show up.

What could be causing this? Remedy?
Hi,

Open Messages and press U which will lead to unread message/email.

Hope it helps.

I think you didnt read my previous message completely. When iam in email/messages the "unread icon" doesnt show up

Did the search in messages using U already it says no unread messages

But, when i open other app for e.g :- Facebook or Times of India. The message icon show up on top as long as iam in that app, When i close the app, the icon disappears

Looks to me like a "Ghost Icon"

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

Well guys, My friend who is using a curve 9360 since a year, is facing serious battery drain on her phone. She losses about 90-95% of battery withing 3 hours, without any heavy usage.

What could be the issue ? Battery gone ?

A faulty battery could be the issue.

If its only been an year then send it back to the BB service center. They honor the warranty pretty well.

Oh that is indeed sad, however still give it a try.

My friend's phone had completed 18 months and a week after that he decided to visit the service center. He did make up a story about being out of station and hence was not able to give the phone for repairs. The service center guy's apparently obliged and repaired his phone for free

If that doesn't work out then on flipkart the battery for 9360 is available for around 2k, however on ebay the same are available in the price range of 700-1k.

Usually the warranty on battery and accessories is six months. But that's when all other manufacturers offer a one year warranty on handsets. Since BlackBerry offers eighteen months, let's hope they replace the battery under warranty too!

No. Read my post again. I said BlackBerry offers eighteen months warranty on phones as against twelve months by other manufacturers. So maybe they offer one year on battery as against six months by others

Hi,
9360s are known for their weak battery life.Mine does last max four hours (especially while travelling-email/BBM/Whatsapp/Music/1-2 phone calls max).Try upgrading the firmware to the latest, I did observe a battery life improvement compared to the previous versions. If that doesnt work, try replacing the battery.
Current OS verion I am on is v 7.1.0.794

Thanks, I'll convey the message. But in this case, battery runs out in 3 hrs, on standby itself, Probably battery is gone.

I did inquired at few shops today, original bb battery for 9360 is around 1000/- bucks.

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

So anyone using the Z10?

Getting feedback from customers that mail is slow unlike previous BBs and that it does not have genuine push mail support. People upgrading from previous gen BBs are feeling the difference and are a disappointed lot [my father in law for one!]

Been trawling bb and cb forums regarding this and there seem to be a lot of questions posted but no official responses:

One reply was to:
"Delete Account and add in again but Before even entering email address scroll down and choose advanced, then choose Exchange Active Sync. Then use m.google.com for server address."

Weird.

Re: Blackberry Phones and Services in India

BB sold 1 million Z10 in < 60 days

Apart from above, they received an order from a single customer ( actually a distributor) for 1 million Z10 handsets

Way to go BB !!!
