Re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

Tyre size, as usual, looks to be a disappointment. Come on Honda, give 185 section tires at least for the VX model.

The interior picture by CarDekho is of the V AT variant, in which we see the USB & i-Pod ports. (as deduced by the different 5.2" non-touchscreen head unit in the picture)

The Jazz VX comes with a 6" touchscreen Navigation system, and it could be that the USB+i-Pod ports are located somewhere else. Honda City VX(O) owners might be able to clarify about this.

The AVN Video on the official website shows the USB & i-Pod features on the touchscreen interface.

Re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

Great to see the magic seats are there in their full glory
I am not sure if people have noticed but Jazz does get the seat reclining option for the rear seats - a small but useful feature and something not offered by competition

Re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

Nice to know that media drive is happening and nice to see the pics. Let me just list down the positives and negatives I noticed in the Jazz which were not clear until today.

Good bits
  • Magic Seats (Feature not in City)
  • Height adjustable seat belts (Feature not in City)
  • Adjustable head-rests for rear seat (Feature not in City)
  • Black fabric seats + black flooring (Feature not in City)
  • Spring type grab-handles
  • Seat back pocket for both seats
Not-So-Good bits
  • No tweeters - looks like just a 4 speaker configuration (Feature available in City)
  • No arm-rests (Feature available in City)
  • Looks like 175 R15 tires (Just like in City)
  • Fake dead pedal (Just like in City)
  • No RS or 1.5 i-VTEC version - at least as of now
I don't really care bits
  • Reportedly Segment best FE
  • No dedicated rear AC vents (I hope they give vents under the seat like last gen)
They have definitely displayed the top of the line version and as we have seen before Jazz loses out many features in the i20 and gets some additional. However, the key factor to influence Jazz's success is none of these - it is the pricing - or rather the amount of greed Honda is willing to sacrifice. Hope they price it decently - it may not top the segment, but has every potential to be Honda's second best seller for a long time to come behind the City.

Re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

ACI has released the first batch of official images of the Honda Jazz, fresh from the media drive event in Goa.

The car in the pictures is a 1.2L V AT (CVT) i-VTEC, with paddle shifters.

Re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

I get a feeling that Honda should've given AT option with VX-trim instead of V-trim.

I hate to miss Magic seats and Start-Stop option in the AT version

Re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

Honda Amaze 1.2L
Amaze

Honda City 1.5L

City

Jazz engine

Jazz

To my eyes, it looks like the 1.5 The resemblance between the City and Jazz engines is more than that of Amaze/Jazz. I may be wrong though.

It was a typo. Thanks for the correction, Vigkey.

The Magic Seats were standard across the range in the earlier-gen Jazz, so I don't see why they wouldn't be standard again.

As for the Start-Stop option, I don't think we will be seeing it in the Jazz. The top VX trim photographed last night shows a plugged gap where the button should be, so IMO Honda won't be offering it on the Jazz at all.

Re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

Would be interesting to see if the S AT gets the paddle shifters. The City SV does not have it and it was something that was not mentioned at all anywhere when the City was launched. Only when the cars started arriving, the customers found out about it.

Hope Honda is clear about it this time.

Looking forward to the 1.2 CVT TD report. One reason the City CVT does very well is because the 1.5 engine helps mask some of the CVT shortcomings, would be interesting to see how the 1.2 fares.

Re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

If Magic seats are standard across all trims, then its great.

Would be interesting to see the feature difference between V and VX trims.

This Official snap tells us no magic seats in V AT :(

Another interesting thing: Handbrake placed on the passenger side (Left)

Good News!!! Even the beige color seats (i.e with fixed head rests i.e. V AT also) get magic seats or at least some features of magic seats. Please see image below.

Didn't expect this from Honda. Too bad to not change the design to be India specific - especially since they are a Japanese company where they drive on the left.

Looks like the Media driven cars got Michelin Energy 176/65 R15 tires. Image below. Courtesy: schimulkar, IAB

This unique feature that adds so much practicality to the Jazz seems to be missing on the lower variants (the ones that get fixed headrests at the rear). This points to a wide price range, with a very tempting price tag for the base 1.2 petrol and possibly with a driver airbag and ABS even on the base variant. This would be very welcome in this segment!

One only hopes they follow the City's safety feature spread across variants, and not that of the Amaze.

Could it be offered as an optional feature, along with others?

If they didn't plan to include it at all, then why create a provision for it, only to put a dummy circular piece in its place? One reason could be the fact that the dashboard moulds are shared with the City, and hence the provision is there by design.

Even the Japanese market RHD Fit has the same placement for its handbrake lever. So I guess it's the same in every Jazz/Fit sold across the world:

Re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

Is magic seats seriously going to be a threat to i20? Am so intrigued by all the interest this one feature gets on our forums when it comes to Jazz. Will it seriously matter if Jazz has the same pitfalls as the city? Though i must admit that city is doing absolutely amaz-ing for itself.
