Oh, I'd love that too Turbo_Torq as I have mentioned umpteen times in this thread. However, seeing Honda's attitude, 1.5 i-VTEC seems distant, very distant.

In the meantime, it appears that Honda will probably release the TVC or next teaser tomorrow. This was mentioned in their twitter campaign for Jazz.

Will the ad with some foreign actors and foreign backdrop connect to the Indians?
I guess Honda is looking for good volumes this time and not just a small niche... don't they need something more 'desi'?

Umm, no actually. I wouldn't say that the current campaigning is creating waves in the industry/community but it is going the right way. Nothing has far more impact than social media these days and the way they are gradually building up the hype, it appears to be working. I mean, look at the thread itself - spy shots have been showing up yet no one has been to officially ascertain the variants and/or features that would be available and peeps are still speculating over it which IMHO, is indirect publicity for the car itself.

No Adimicra, this is the online campaign targeted at the twitter and FB users and I guess it is going in the right direction. I totally agree to what Turbo_Torq has mentioned below.

As I I have mentioned before in this thread, Jazz IMO aims more at the age group of 25-35 i.e. well earning youth and small families who would prefer a modern sporty hatchback. This is more for the modern urban youth. Where would you find the most of them - the online world, of course. That, I think, is the reason why they have gone with foreign characters and location. If you notice, they are posting one tweet a day and slowly building up the hype for the Jazz.

For me, this is much much better than the Mobilio ad campaign.

I think they are trying to do what Hyundai did with Elite i20 launch. Foreign actors and location makes the brand offering look premium. It has that feel good factor.

Also lets not forget that they are trying to connect with 25 to 34 years young achievers so this Ad may just resonate and connect more with this TG.

Looks like a nice, fun, catchy campaign is planned. I think Honda is finally learning the tropes in the Indian market, they just might be out Hyndai-ing Hyundai!

Nice ad. But they are showing the international model with sunroof, cruise control, 16" wheels etc. - bound to create confusion for the the junta here, unless they choose to have a variant with sun-roof, which is extremely unlikely.

OR - is the first in the series of ads they are planning to show? This is New York, so in the coming days, there might be ads showing Jazz in Tokyo, Beijing, Sydney, etc. That will project the fact that Jazz is an international model A Honda car accomplished all over the world and stuff like that.

Also tried to find if this was one of the ads for Honda Fit in US and if they are trying to reuse it for the Indian campaign - but was unable to find it. So, I guess this was made as part of Honda Jazz's Indian campaign itself.

Don't think that will happen so early. And this is the same article that came in Gaadi.com yesterday re-posted by a different website. This might be a vehicle that was taken to the dealer for some training purpose or to make them familiar before the public display starts (probably mid next month). Another possibility is that Honda was testing the vehicle and took it to the dealer in between - if you remember, Mobilio was also spotted a couple of times during testing a few weeks before launch.

Thanks for the video Volkman. Vigkey, in the video, they are displaying a disclaimer like "Not an actual feature on this vehicle" whenever the sunroof is shown and remotely opening windows (is this feature given anywhere?) are shown.

Even if people don't read it, for building anticipation and creating a buzz, it will work in their favour. This will give an international feel to it. They should only not build too much expectation as well. If they show too much and offer too little, that will be very much buzz-kill
