It has a spare tyre on the boot; can NOT be a Scorpio. Has to be the new Bolero as mentioned above.

Re: New Mahindra Scorpio (W105) coming in 2014? EDIT: Fresh pictures on Page 17

Ok, my initial thought was that if its a Mahindra - it looks closer to Quanto (Small rear overhang, Shape) compared to Bolero or Scorpio. I haven't seen any news about Bolero refresh, is that due shortly?

The other manufacturers who test frequently here are Hyundai/Renault and Ford, not sure whether this is any of their product.

Mods: Based on the feedback, the above snaps are OT here - can they be moved to the relevant thread?

re: Next-generation Mahindra Bolero? NAMED: Mahindra TUV300! EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 6.90 lakhs

It makes sense to produce a sub four meter version with a Better engine, better mechanicals and evolved and updated Bolero.

Quanta was a failure as a sub four meter because it was ill conceived product to take on Duster and Eco sport from the start.

Also I would prefer a updated Bolero with a CRDe engine and better interiors and better mechanicals on the current Bolero. MM needs to keep current shape of the Bolero as it defines a strong character of the vehicle and any radical change will make it loose it's status of India's most selling SUV.

Oh not to forget a limited version of Bolero 4WD live front axle and Thar/Scorpio engine.

So, its the baby S101 SUV, then the next gen Quanto and the Bolero replacement with Wrangler styling !!!, which is going to be sold alongside the existng Bolero...
I thought Mahindra would launch a sub 4m Bolero, a new regular Bolero and an XL version.

Could this Baby Bolero a Hard top Invader in disguise?

And the existing Papa Bolero should come with CRDe/MHawk engine and better mechanicals.

Nice! Its much better than i thought it would be. Glad there are no curves but only straight lines and the boxy shape (although it is not as boxy as the current Bolero). The 1.5 L motor doesnt really sound too exciting. The Bolero was never known for its top speed;but lways for its low end torque. The current 2.5 L DI/M2dicr motor has a wall of torque. The 1.5 L motor; I am not so sure if it is such a good idea in this respect!

It is rumoured that the current generation Bolero and the new one could co-exist.

Glad to see confirmation of the Bolero SWB and LWB as per the sightings of the test mules of both the vehicles.

I am sure that Quanto will be discontinued after the launch of these two Boleros.

Couple of more pictures of the vehicle.

Saw the vehicle in ECR road in Chennai, along with a brand new XUV and a Quanto. The shape looks good. Not too tall, but wide and looks butch with the spare tyre on the back. Pretty neat acceleration and the vehicle can do a cool 120+ .

Also pretty good chaser. Chased our Etios to ask us to delete the photos taken.

re: Next-generation Mahindra Bolero? NAMED: Mahindra TUV300! EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 6.90 lakhs

After an utterly half-hearted first attempt at the compact SUV segment with a truncated Xylo that turned out to be a sales dud, it looks like Mahindra are going all out to flood the sub-4m SUV segment with their new offerings!

So we now have them testing a monocoque sub-4m SUV to take on the likes of the EcoSport, plus a ladder frame sub-4m mini-next generation Bolero that would probably be positioned below the former (or replace the Quanto maybe?) And the 4m+ version of the ladder frame vehicle is going to be positioned as the next generation Bolero workhorse, I guess.

The sub-4m ladder frame vehicle can also turn out to be a good off-roader/lifestyle vehicle if they equip it with the necessary mechanicals.

The likes of Ford, Renault, Nissan, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai better watch out! The Indian utility vehicle specialist is gearing up to take the compact SUV segment by storm. Honda must have thought that they had bagged the third podium spot on the sales charts for good, but it's going to turn out to be a very tough fight indeed!

I would prefer the LWB current Bolero with mechanical changes compared to the sub 4meter test mule.

Current Bolero has a strong cult following and MM needs to target a different audience with the sub 4 meter, otherwise it will go the Quanto way.
