As much as this sounds exciting, I worry about how this car will ride on our roads. The Evo is probably the stiffest in terms of suspension set up. Any stiffer and it will get uncomfortable.

On the brighter side, a car that already handles like it is on rails, will be even more enjoyable when pushed around a bend.

The wheels look cool. The red wing mirrors are back. I hope they price it sensibly.

Wow!! I am just drooling over the pics again and again. Scorpian alloys gives Punto Evo Abharth and an apt definition.

Fiat get your marketing aspect right here and make the brand as the desirable one, then you will have a winner in your hands.

Re: Scoop - Fiat Punto Evo T-Jet coming up!

For Indian roads, what we really need is an Avventura Abarth TJet. Maybe that will show up next year, in time for me to upgrade from my Zest.

Re: Scoop - Fiat Punto Evo T-Jet coming up!

So much chrome on a 135 bhp "sporty" Abarth? C'mon man! The front is still liveable but, the rear has dollops of the shiny stuff. Also, am I right that the projectors are missing?

I just seriously hope that these measures are just a step towards ensuring competent pricing.

In one of the pics, we can see the usual 5 speed gear lever. Since this looks like an almost production ready car, can we safely assume that the Abarth will come with a 5 speed gearbox?

Re: Scoop - Fiat Punto Evo T-Jet coming up!

Innocent question, how do we know this is Abarth version and not a top variant of Punto evo. Alloy and stickers?

+1 nim_peter - Red decal on the side does not look like Abarth one. As you said it may be a Punto with Tjet engine, alloy, and decals.

Well, most guesses stem from the fact that the Abarth brand will be launched in a few months, as announced by them. It wouldn't be illogical to assume that this could be one of the three cars that wears the Abarth badge.

Besides, have a look at that car in the spy-shot closely. Why would Fiat go through the pains to source what seems to be 16"-17" Abarth-esque scorpion-claw alloys, stuff a T-Jet in there (that exhaust looks identical to the Linea T-Jet) and then cover up the badges like that.

Not new for Indian Manufacturers to add stickers and call it sports or limited edition I don't think FIAT will spoil the abarth image by just adding a 135bhp t-jet engine, an alloy and some stickers. Looking at Abarth specs abroad, it includes a 163bhp multiair engine, suspension kits, Brembo brakes(I think), new gear knobs and a loads of safety/stability control. I don't think these are included in the cars, difficult to get anything from these pics anyway. Will have to wait and see. A top line t-jet makes sense, but why hide the logo? So many questions and little answers.

Re: Scoop - Fiat Punto Evo T-Jet coming up!

More images of 2015 Abarth Punto Evo spied. In the 2nd and 4th snap (click to enlarge) it is pretty clear that this comes with a 5 speed gearbox.

So following is what we know so far
1. Evo Abarth will come in minimum 2 colors - White and Black
2. It will be powered by 135 bhp T-JET engine
3. It will have Scorpion' alloy wheels - 16" or 17"
4. Disc brake for all wheels
5. Fiat badges will be replaced with Abarth logos
6. It will come with 5 speed manual gearbox
7. There will be aluminium pedals

Yes the exhaust is really looking out of place, it appears to be identical to the one on the T-jet but more visible, in the case of the jet the longer body i think covers it up and while it can be still seen it does not look like a tap and the end of a pipe.

Would have liked them to include a double tip instead like in this photo, would have looked much better - but hey atleast the t-jet punto is here right..!

Re: Scoop - Fiat Punto Evo T-Jet coming up!

The avventura seen testing comes with the regular diamond cut wheels, no red stripes. My guess is that it will get 112 hp motor unlike Punto Abarth with 135 hp.
I see another Punto besides the Abarth. Could this be top of the line Punto Evo with 112 hp which would replace the 90hp petrol?
