Considering the external and internal changes are not huge (expensive), I assume they would be comfortably able to price it under 10L Ex Showroom. The current top end Punto Evo is around 7.7L Ex-Showroom for the top end and the current Linea 1.4 Tjet top end is around 9.7 Ex showroom. From the Autocar Article, the 3 big things are
  • 1.4 TJET
  • All 4 discs
  • Stiffened suspension
  • Alloys and badging

So referencing above and the current pricing for the Evo and Line TJET, it should definitely fall under 10L (In Fact, it has to be. Considering the Polo GT TSI itself is around 8.5 Ex Showroom and is considered expensive)

Quote:
If an Abarth Punto passed you on the street you might not be able to identify it as the ‘hot’ version at first glance, as there isn’t a huge visual change from the top-spec Punto 90HP diesel. Aficionados, however, will spot the new ‘Scorpion’ design for the alloy wheels, the added contrast colouring around the grille, the sporty decal that runs down the base of the doors, and the fact that there isn’t a single Fiat badge on the car – only Abarth logos. They’re small touches that subtly reveal the added potency under the hood.

The changes on the inside are even fewer, retaining the Punto 90HP’s all-black cabin colour, but swapping the Fiat badge for an Abarth one. The fabric upholstery is a bit different, and gets some racy looking contrast stitching in red and yellow – the Abarth colours – which really liven it up. The Abarth Punto also gets sportier steel pedals, and there don't appear to be any changes to the equipment list over the regular car.

When it goes on sale, the Abarth Punto will be the closest thing India has ever got to a full-on hot hatchback. The 1.4-litre T-Jet engine may be related to the one you get in the Linea, but Abarth has turned the wick up to a rather serious 145bhp, and though the official numbers aren’t revealed yet, it’s likely to have over 20kgm of torque. And it doesn’t stop there, as Fiat has also modified the suspension for this sportier model – something mainstream carmakers rarely do when they add power. The suspension has been stiffened, and the ride height has been lowered by 20mm.

Well, with this reasoning, the Abarth Punto needs to sit under or close to the Polo GT TSI.
Also, Hormazd Sorabjee's twitter feed indicates that the Avventura is coming with the very same engine (state of tune et-al):
https://twitter.com/hormazdsorabjee/...54897969557504

Hence, pricing the Abarth Punto at nearly 10L ex-showroom would mean that the Abarth Avventura goes toe-to-toe with vehicles a segment above. I'd imagine that EVEN Fiat wouldn't do that

Regards,

Sundar

Re: Scoop - Fiat Punto Evo T-Jet coming up!

Hopefully, FIAT would offer those 16" rims separately. I am sure a lot of Punto owners would be willing to upgrade to these. Looks hot! They were offering those Y-spoke rims from the pre-Evo models at a very decent price.

Good to see they have retained some bits from the Punto Evo (front/rear bumpers, seats with different upholstery and stitching etc) which would have helped lower the overall cost but haven't compromised on the performance.

Re: Scoop - Fiat Punto Evo T-Jet coming up!

Honestly this will be a true hot hatch. As a past owner of the Palio 1.6, I have been waiting for something like this. The 0-100 numbers below 9 seconds sounds too good to be true especially if this is going to be priced below 10 lakhs.

I am looking for a replacement for my 2011 Cruze LT, and this will be even faster! In fact, except for the 1.8 TSI, there is going to be no competition in terms of acceleration for this beast.

Re: Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione revealed on Fiat India's website

Better late than never. Now lets see how Fiat markets these hot hatches.

Every time I take my Punto out, I see a lot of heads turning with curiosity. Many even remark "Which car is that? Some confused, while others remark: Ah that's a Punto!". The curiosity and enthusiasm is surely out there on the streets. Fiat really needs to inculcate a new thought process among its PR guys if they want to sell more cars.

Re: Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione revealed on Fiat India's website

My only grouse is that the Punto Abarth should have come with better tyres and not the Apollos which are very noisy. But then who listens to the road noise when one is listening to the 135 horses under the hood.

Those scorpion alloys are absolutely drool worthy, I hope they would be available for the existing Punto and Linea cars. I for one like the matte grey colour better on the Abarth than the black one.

Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione revealed on Fiat India's website

Boy o boy!!!! The best looking car - matte abarth punto.
Anyone interested in getting my 8 month old vento 1.6 tdi clocked 17000 kms, promptly serviced??😀😀
Price = showroom price of abarth punto.

IMO , the Apollo tyres aren't the worst as hyped. But neither are they the best ones.

Looks good. I am sure will drive well.

I feel projectors with HID would really differentiate Abarth from normal punto. Alloys look awesome and interiors in black look good.

Re: Scoop - Fiat Punto Evo T-Jet coming up!

I am pretty sure the hot hatch "enthusiasts" will find way of putting this Fiat hatchback down and go back to "happily" driving their 1.2 liter hatchback gloating about their fuel efficiency figures.

Re: Scoop - Fiat Punto Evo T-Jet coming up!

Avvy was showcased in orange shade.. Polo, etios cross, figo, ecosport launched in orange couple of months before avvy..Same will be the case now with punto abarth.. Fiat knows nothing about keeping secrets and teasing others. All manufacturers will now launch their cars in matte finish and that shade, before diwali
