re: Next-gen Suzuki Baleno (YRA) unveiled. EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 4.99 lakhs

Its seems Baleno will go up post the festive season.

“This is an introductory offer. We are going to, very soon, revise the prices. In fact, on a lighter note it is more of a Diwali gift to our Indian customers from Maruti Suzuki,” said Partho Banerjee, Senior Vice President (NEXA Channel), Marketing & Sales, without specifying when exactly prices would go up.

Here is the OTR break up in Bangalore for Baleno. 1.3 Alpha breaches the 10L in OTR.

True, prices on the date of delivery will apply.

I have had friends that had paid in full in the past, for example, in Jan, 2010 for Honda City and got assurance from the dealer that the price change will not effect them. They were waiting for the VIN nos from Jan, 2010 rather than take delivery of 2009 vehicles. In such cases, they did keep their promises.

I hate Karnataka road tax regulations, wish there is some regularity throughout the country on this

it is weird that the insurance for 1.3 Alpha reduces by almost 5000.00. What could be the reason?

The insurance quotes seem to be off. See the variation in 1.2 Delta CVT Vs the base 1.2 Sigma variant. Despite of being about 1.8 L expensive, the insurance premium on a zero dep policy seems to have gone down on the CVT.

I read the above as:" After the S-cross pricing fiasco, we played it safe and kept the pricing attractive. Now that, we are getting good number of bookings, we will make hay till the sun shines. And, to those who book now, and have to pay the increased prices at the time of delivery: Sorry, hard luck!"

Looks like a mistake. Note that the car in picture has wrong alloys too.

All-in-all, Maruti seems to be building up a good dilemma to have! With new Swift / Dzire coming up as well, their challenge will be pricing more than anything else.

My reading of above is (tongue firmly in cheek):
These prices will remain till December or till the launch of the Brezza. Since that will be a super hot selling car, we can price it high and therefore increase Baleno's prices!

I wouldn't worry too much about any price increase in future. Competition is fierce in this segment and Maruti won't dare increase prices too much. Maybe they will bring prices on par with the Jazz and i20 at the most. This is not a Duster or a Fortuner.

Does anyone know the ex-showroom prices in Kolkata? How is the ingress and egress of the vehicle for a tall person?

At 5'11", won't call myself tall but, I could get in and out without a hitch.

I am 6'1" tall with somewhat generous dimensions , and I could get in and out of the rear seat without any crouching. I remember struggling in Elite i20, however Jazz was also quite comfortable in that aspect.

re: Next-gen Suzuki Baleno (YRA) unveiled. EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 4.99 lakhs

So base model exshowroom delhi 4.99 and top model OTR Bangalore almost 10L.

So people think you have bought a 5L car even if you put in 10L to acquire it.

Just dont like the pseudo streched down base model pricing idea nor the extra margin top model trick.
