Well - they are also comparing it with Range Rover Evoque. And a few others down below.

Actually on a lighter vein if it's a squatter that's good strategy. Compare it with such a lower end car that the brand would love to buy the site.

Everything said, they are still not serious. When you are trying to revive a brand, everything needs to be impeccable. Look at the spelling of Delhi on the landing page: it is DLEHI, popular is POPULER. Simple errors like these means you have very lazy incompetent and careless people on the job. In some cases, especially PR stunts and publicity exercises, you need to be MORE polished than what you actually are. not even a single error, please.

But then, its unique , compared to the Bentley as well!

I think you've misunderstood the nature of that website.

It's indeed run by someone with poor language skills, as you've correctly pointed out. However, the owner/administrator of that website is a cyber squatter who is not associated with Tata Motors in any manner.

Yes you are right. I realized that later.

Thanks for pointing it out....They are doing good service then, and glad to see such a passionate effort. TATA needs all the fans now!

More details can be found in the below link.

http://www.whois.com/whois/tatanexon.in . The site is registered to one Azher Memon.

=============================

Am waiting for that day people will take a moment to "think" and respond on such points before attacking companies like TATA questioning their capability & competency to manage the content on website.

And no, the website shouldn't be a "fanboy" operation; this is a shrewd move to "sell" the TATA Nexon domain name for a handsome price at the time of launch (it's very normal for such websites to pop up as soon as a product name is announced). The content may be a cover to defend if TATA drags the guy to court for getting the domain name from him.

re: The Tata Nexon, now launched at Rs. 5.85 lakhs

I remember during a conference on intellectual property in IT, the distinguished speaker on the stage referred to a case where the Tata' sent a legal notice to a website called BodaciousTatas for infringing their trademark. The website, of course had nothing to do with the Tata company. I for one lost it and could not stop laughing, while the audience wondered what had gone wrong with me.

Actually, Tata uses the .com and not .in. Tata has already registered Tatanexon.com. And this will in future, translate to Nexon.TataMotors.com.

In these days of cybersquatters, I guess that companies would think of these things early enough, and avoid such situations.

I doubt this guy is going to get much.

And on the same note, the new Tiago based sedan will not be called the Kite.

re: The Tata Nexon, now launched at Rs. 5.85 lakhs

Oncars lists the engine & transmission options for the Tata Nexon SUV:

- A 1.2L, turbocharged petrol engine producing 110BHP of power and 170Nm of peak torque.

- A 1.5L oil burner heart capable of producing 108BHP of power and 260Nm of peak torque.

- Mated to 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and AMT transmissions.

When launched in the country by mid-2017, the Nexon is expected to be introduced in the Rs 6 lakh - 10 lakh range, taking on the Maruti-Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSport.

I thought Nexon was coming by Diwali. Now they pushed it to mid-2017? That mid might as well be end-2017. Tata Motors will never learn. This and Brezza were showcased around same time, in Auto Expo Delhi this year beginning. Brezza is out for several months now and here we are waiting for ever elusive Nexon. Some makers only know how to make cars, not how to and when to launch and sell them.

Nexon was always scheduled for mid-2017, right since when the ACI first previewed the car. They reported the same in their article as well. It was infact specifically mentioned in the coverpage of their magazine in one of these past months. I don't understand how and why did you think that it will be here by Diwali. Having high hopes on the launch date and then bad-mouthing a company is not a fair practice, when the company itself is clear that the car will be launched 'only' in 2017.

Next Tata launch is Kite 5 sedan (Sept/Oct) - They are targeting around 5K per month, Hexa may come next (this year itself), and finally Nexon most probably by mid 2017.

Agree, they are terribly slow.

re: The Tata Nexon, now launched at Rs. 5.85 lakhs

Tata has always been slow to respond to opposition, and this has the unfortunate consequence of letting the opposition entrench itself firmly in the market. By mid-2017, MSIL's upcoming plant will be in full swing, and the Baleno and Brezza will be flying off the shelves, as well as the next-gen Swift. Maruti will have the mid-range hatch, premium hatch and CUV segments completely covered. Ford will have unveiled the facelifted Ecosport, and Mahindra too will likely have come up with updated versions of the TUV and the Nuvosport.

Even if the Nexon is truly pathbreaking and offers features never before offered in the segment (like the Zest did), there is a good chance that it will not carve out as big a slice of the CUV segment as Tata expects it to. Recent Tata products received wonderful reviews from everyone, including Tbhp here, but in the end, all of them will include this death knell points or similar ones:

• Concerns over long-term reliability & durability. Previous Tata cars haven't fared well in this area.
• Tata's sub-par after-sales service quality is far from that of Maruti, Hyundai and Honda

Yup, this is from our Tbhp's own Tata Zest review. Even though two years have passed since the launch of the Zest, and the vehicle itself has proven reliable and the service has improved, the review remains the same as it was in 2014. It has not incorporated the good experiences and reliable performance reported by Zest owners on the Forum, or the updates to the car. A newbie looking through the official review will most likely conclude that the Zest is still an unproven vehicle, though in reality it is one of the best vehicles, in the segment, if not the best overall.

The Tiago broke the Jinx in terms of acceptability, but I think that the fact that the Tiago is in the entry level segment and thus involves a comparatively lower investment, as well as several new owners also being new to car ownership, played a big part in the acceptance of the car. Things will be a bit different in the higher segments, which involve a lot more investment, and experienced owners who are upgrading. Brand value plays a bigger role, and buyers are more likely to stick to products from established brands.

Here's what will probably happen.

The Nexon will have its work cut out at launch, as it will have to sell both the product as well as the brand. It will have to be spectacular just to have a chance, and will be judged more harshly and held to more exacting standards. The fact that this is Tata's first foray into the CUV segment, as well as the Nexon's Zest/Bolt platform connection, will be deeply analysed and judgments passed, often prematurely and with preconceived notions. Unless the Land Rover involvement in the design and tuning phase (if any) is highlighted, it's capability and Tata's abilities will be questioned (despite their amazing work with the Storme). Even if the new 1.5L engine develops power and torque at par with the segment, it's reliability will be questioned (despite the CR4 engine in the Indigo eCS being a gem) and perhaps, bashed as "commuter motors". The lack of a boot mounted spare will be pointed out and scorned. Interiors will be described as "best ever on a Tata, but no match for Hyundai", even if they are awesome.

Best of all, even if the Tata Nexon comes out better on looks, performance, space, comfort and features, somehow, the Brezza will mysteriously emerge as "the more rounded package"

Awesome! You just nailed it brother!

Nexon will be in 2017. I'm sure they are preparing for a great launch and waiting for the ripe moment.

But, competition is brutal and average consumer is a herd. Double whammy for Tata Motors!
