Could be. But not sure why they didn't reveal the interiors or the complete specs/ features per models. FCA announced the manufacturing to begin in June but no clear confirmation for booking date

Any idea on production capacity of new plant. We can deduce the pricing based on this. If anticipated numbers are 10k for the Indian market, then Compass is priced below 20 lakhs or else above 20 .

If this is true, then we are not getting the Trail hawk variant. Rock mode is exclusively available on Trail hawk model.

The 7-speed (code: FPT C725) is a dry clutch DCT and known to have a torque limit of 250Nm. Hence the same would be paired only with the 1.4L turbo petrol.

FCA do have 6-speed (code: FPT C635) dry clutch DCT also for their transverse applications, which is rated for a higher 350Nm (perhaps the highest for a dry clutch DSG/DCT application), but the same is not paired with the Compass internationally.

We had learnt earlier that this global C-segment SUV will sport an introductory price tag of Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom) which will help Jeep position the Compass aggressively against the competition.

Take this with a pinch of salt. Even if true this will be the price of petrol engine model. In India diesel is the preferred choice for SUV. The speculations are for 20-25 lakhs price range.

Fiat needs to improve their service. If priced correctly they can snatch a pie from Fortuner. The brand pull is strong, it up to Fiat how they protect it.

Diesel - 2.0 Multi-Jet with manual gearbox

Once you are shopping in the 25 lakh segment , customers will expect the Automatic option. Now I guess it's clear that Jeep will not offer a diesel automatic. So I am expecting the range to top
off at less than 22 lakhs. I am expecting the Trailhawk as and when launched to come with the 9 speed auto and be priced at around 25 lakhs.

The wait for a proper diesel automatic continues. Frustratii. Jeep is really losing out on the diesel automatic customers and I don't see the Petrol's doing great volume in this segment and price point. Looks like Jeep is about to learn the Indian market the hard way.

Completely agree! I am sure the word "Jeep" is synonymous with Mahindra Jeeps for 90% of the India populace if not more It is nowhere close to the brand value commanded by Toyota and Ford when it comes to SUVs available in the Indian market. FCA has lot of ground to cover here and an unrealistic pricing will make things more difficult for them.

Nope. No Trailhawk variant for India. It will be manufactured at Ranjangaon though, for exports only.

The Compass's pricing will be between Rs 17 lakhs - Rs 25 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi. Will target the Hyundai Tucson.

FCA has set themselves a pretty modest target for the Compass initially - around 50,000 units annually, out of which 35-40% are to be exported. That brings us to around 2,500 units a month in domestic sales.

Why, FCA, why? What could be the rationale behind this decision?!

Edit: This Overdrive article seems to suggest otherwise.

In the top-end Trailhawk trim, customers can deck their SUV in a dual-tone colour, on/off-road tyres as well as a special “Rock” mode.

Overall I like it for sure.

But everything depends on the final trim and spec levels and the final likely on road price in Bangalore.

Does anyone know when the prices will be made known to the public?
