This is really weird! How can the car cost 10k more in the same city at 2 different dealers? The price at SC Ford Malad is 13.12L for T+ AT. Looks like Kavish is charging more for the RTO registrations. No guesses for where the extra amount goes to

Not anymore. The cars you have mentioned have problems galore in their present avatars (Fiesta isnt sold any more). So many reported on this forum alone. A friend picked up the new Innova, supposed to be bulletproof, and its facing some glitches. All I'm saying is that you cannot say a model will be reliable for 10 odd years with certainty. Those days are long gone. My Zen was with me for 16 years and had seen zero rattles, spent only on essentials, forget issues. So can i confidently say as of today that Maruti makes reliable cars? I dare not

From photo, I can make out it is Trend + variant. But I think I can see Sports mode there. Any idea, how it would work without paddle shifters? Are there any buttons on the side of the gear knob?

If any one is asking about the 2nd row seating: It can seat 2. Back-rest is bad, and the arm-rest unit sticks quite a bit into the 2nd row.

I'm going off topic here but isn't this system based on CarPlay? If yes, I think the developers of the apps have to add support for CarPlay, I think.

Try to get the Essential Pack (Mud-flaps and Floor mats) complimentary. If you've already tried, this is a must-have. I have seen the reverse light housing get filled with muck on a car without mud-flaps. Doubt you'll save a lot on non-OEM.

Btw, I am booking neither. So there is no defence of the S-Cross over the Ecosport.
Good analysis for diesel. So what are you getting?

I need a AT with high seating. Can wait till the end of next year. Hope to see more AT coming in compact SUV - Brezza, Nexon etc.

Patience, my friend ! You have sufficient time - and we will hopefully see some good ones over the next one year.

For me, not decided yet. I would like to stretch the Storme more. The vehicle is good, and feel of the regular SUV is something that ES or the SCross or Nexon, or even Creta / Duster just cant match.

Hi,
I test drove the EcoSport Titanium +. Petrol AT yesterday. Coming from a 2009 i20 , it felt really good to drive.

I am planning to get a new car and after this test drive am super confused.

I need an automatic car for sure. I drive over 90Km a day , over 3.5 hours every day.Drive being 70 km highway , 20km stop-go traffic.

Polo GT and Vento Tsi were the contenders so far. Now i have no clue what to buy.

I want something super reliable but the fuel efficiency numbers seem a bit off for the EcoSport. Can I expect numbers of around 13kmpl from the petrol AT?

Engine Guard: ₹8,200 - Go for it. Highly recommended.

Illuminated Scuff Plates: ₹5,150 - Go for plain scuff plates.

Mudflap Kit: ₹900 - Go for it.

Rear Spoiler: ₹5,500 - The stock rear itself looks like it's got a spoiler. I wouldn't recommend it.

Roof Cross Bar: ₹7,100 - For looks or practicality? It's too small to notice it and again and big one would also look odd. Check the local shops.

Sun Blinds: ₹3,500 - A good sun blind is hard to find outside. Would highly recommend it if it's of good quality. See the fit and finish and whether it stays on.

Since both of you said basically the same thing, I have asked them to give me the engine guard, mudflap kit and sun blinds, and I will be buying the air deflector, auto window closer and non-illuminated scuff plates separately. Thank you for your help!

Out of curiosity, what does the engine guard do? And what do you guys recommend for the floor mats?

It has an L mode and there are +/- buttons on the gear knob.

The engine guard is essentially the sump guard: covers the exposed portion of the engine bay from beneath. This helps protects the engine bay from stones/other debris.

I use the fabric floor mats that Ford gave as part of the Essential Pack. I should ideally have got rubber mats to avoid the mess that happens during the monsoon but it's been two monsoons now so the decision is put off until next May. A friend has some rubber mats that his friend-accessories shop owner recommended, about 5k for the entire car.

It was noted somewhere in the forum that Engine Guard will get between a safety feature in case of a frontal impact were the engine will move down to avoid a cabin intrusion.

With a good ground clearance I don't think a metal guard is required. Go for a fiber one for that occasional flying stones and debris.

Cheers!

Now I am confused. Is it essential or not, and where do I get a fibre one from if not officially from Ford?

If the engine was susceptible to damage from below, would Ford not have added something to guard it before it left the factory?
