re: The Maruti Ciaz Facelift. EDIT: Now launched at ₹ 8.19 lakhs

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz spied on tests, an imminent launch in August as seen in the dealer discounts and factory dispatches shrink in June.

Ciaz gets projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, LED elements on tail lamps, chrome accents around the reflectors on rear bumper and a redesigned front end with a sleeker and more elongated grille. It also gets a new set of alloy wheels.

Interiors look somewhat similar to the outgoing model done up in a black and beige color scheme. It does, however, sports a new set of buttons on the steering wheel on the right spoke indicating introduction of cruise control.

re: The Maruti Ciaz Facelift. EDIT: Now launched at ₹ 8.19 lakhs

Any possibility of Maruti plonking an AMT / Automatic with the 1.3 DDIS on the facelift?

IMO Maruti is missing out on a missed opportunity by not having a diesel AT in this segment - especially when the Brezza, Swift, Ignis all come with one.

Dad's been keen to sell the Etios in favour of a diesel auto - but there is no car that seems to fit the bill (legroom, headroom, boot space, low maintenance).
The Ciaz however is one that comes closest to fitting the bill, and one where Maruti doesn't have to rack their brains about as it's already doing duty in their other vehicles. The only other option is the is the Creta which is just too overpriced to be a beater - and given how often we're filling up the Corolla and the 328i, I'd much prefer a diesel!

Any reason why you are not considering the Brezza AMT?

Also, I think you should check out the Amaze diesel CVT.

There is Verna 1.6 CRDI (6 speed TC auto), TUV300, Brezza (5 speed AMT) and Nexon (6 speed AMT). Then there is Rapid (7 speed DSG) as well.

Honestly, I have grown bored of 1.3 DDIS. It's like a cockroach, just not going away

Swift, Ritz, Dzire, Baleno, Ignis, Ciaz, Brezza, Scross, everything MS launch, comes with the same old engine. I won't buy a MS diesel just to avoid that 1.3 (I would love to own Scross, otherwise).

Honestly, the closest I've gotten to using the 1.3 DDIS is on my cousin's Swift which I have been driving for the past 600-700kms - so I don't mind it as it is a new engine for me.

As for the other options: To avoid turning this into a What Car post: They all are a bigger compromise on something compared to the Etios:
- Reliability (Rapid / Vento)
- Looks (Nexon - Dad doesn't like it, and the Tata brand doesn't help with the reliability; TUV300 is something I am not keen on)
- Headroom & Legspace (Verna, Rapid, Ameo, Vento, Amaze - all lack it, and it is of crucial importance given both dad and me are 6+ feet).

Vitara Brezza to be honest isn't my cup of tea with it's average interiors and poor boot space. We did evaluate all these options earlier before picking up the S-Cross 1.6 - but only the Ciaz made it to the final countdown.

Boot space is important as this car is used for airport trips, guests, beater duties, etc.

In fact, when my sister visits, or we go on a family holiday - the Etios is the only car that can accomodate all our luggage making travelling easier than taking two cars.
Sedan would be preferred because often elderly aunts sit in the car, and climbing in and out of anything higher than an S-Cross is problematic for them + I'd rather get dad / my wife a proper SUV later on - one which I can take on my out of town trips too (safety would be of paramount importance, as well as performance).

re: The Maruti Ciaz Facelift. EDIT: Now launched at ₹ 8.19 lakhs

So its official that the facelift will be launched next month for Ciaz.

A dealership confirmed absolutely no availability of Diesel Ciaz irrespective of the variant. It also confirmed that there are no more factory dispatches of the Ciaz for this month and hence no 'Target' is set for the SAs to sell the Ciaz as long as they clear the existing stock.

Offers include 50K Discount + 50K for Exchange Bonus + Corporate discount of 10K; This along with some real bargaining for OE accessories (MGA, MGP) made it a good deal for a neighbor friend of mine who booked a Delta last weekend. His need was manual and the fact that he wanted to upgrade from his current Chevy Sail Hatch (again an MJD) to something bigger and spacious.

Higher end models were ruled out because the lower variants offered most of it he was looking for in terms of safety (ABS, Airbags) and equipment (Projectors, Bluetooth etc). For less than the price of a Hot Diesel hatch, he managed to pick this one.

He would be getting a company leased Crysta (Or something in that range) by next year and hence decided for this.

re: The Maruti Ciaz Facelift. EDIT: Now launched at ₹ 8.19 lakhs

Thanks to the Team-BHP fan (he prefers to remain anonymous) who sent this information in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing it with other enthusiasts via this page!

1. Changes to the exteriors include revised front and rear ends with new LED elements.
2. Training for the accessories as well and shooting for videos has commenced (the ones to be played on screens in Nexa showrooms).
3. Interior changes minimal. Similar to the outgoing model except from extra buttons on the steering wheel (cruise control?).
4. Dispatches have stopped.
5. Discounts to the tune of 1 lakh on diesel and around 40k on petrol models.
6. The car could sport a Baleno-like spoiler, but more subtly integrated or it could be an accessory.
7. 1.5 petrol is the major change expected in the engine department.
8. Training for the Sales advisors has not yet began. Once this happens, the launch will be imminent.

As discussed in this thread earlier. There is speculation that the new K15 engine will get SHVS technology. One of the dealers is pretty confident that petrol is getting SHVS tech.

This will most likely mean that MAruti will be bumping up the price to cash in on SHVS. 1.5L engine + SHVS makes sense as people will have FE concerns.

SHVS might help them claim FE above 20kmpl too. But i doubt if that will make any real world difference. Car might still return better figures than the City/Yaris/Verna

Maruti Suzuki's Face-lift Ciaz to launch on August 6th. (including Prices)

The updated Ciaz is expected to reach dealerships by August 10.

Quote:
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will get the newer 1.5-litre K15B motor developing 105PS of power and 138Nm of torque. The car will come with its ‘SHVS’ mild hybrid tech. That makes the Ciaz the first petrol-hybrid in Maruti’s lineup, as well as the segment.

I think with the new technology sharing partnership between Suzuki and toyota.it is possible the new Ciaz might be launched with one of Toyota's motors,it could be the same engine doing duty in the Etios ...

Well that would be a downgrade, performance wise. The 200DDIS is fast beyond the initial lag, and can cruise at speeds at which Etios diesel would go out of breadth.

Petrol 1.5 of Etios is a sweet engine though. But then Marutis 1.5 petrol maybe sweeter.

Not yet - this is a Suzuki engine only.

The new 1.5 petrol engine is a welcome addition. On the safety front, Is the ciaz expected to launch with 6-airbags?
