re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

Well priced, considering the fact that Hyundai usually prices their products optimistically, at a premium. This is going to sell like hot cakes with this pricing, though introductory. The competitors, especially the EcoSport and the XUV300 have a reason to worry.

This leaves me with one question, though. Why should the i20 Active exist anymore?

Its actually the SX+ that gets DCT. It's lacking some basic features like 60:40 rear split sear, rear wipe and wash and sliding front arm rest. This looks like a DCT special variant, but pricing is marked under SX(O).

No, SX+ gets DCT which is based on SX. Top Model has manual gearbox.

re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

Good pricing unlike the Creta shocker. 3OO had its task cut out.

Venue is premium and has a proper automatic transmission as well along with great set of features.

Nexon and EcoSport will be impacted as well. Brezza needs to up its game significantly. Starting wth proper petrol and diesel engines.

C-SUV space is lit🙂

Reasonable pricing range.

Hyundai knows, to stay in the competition, they had to start low and they did by making the base model devoid of common features.

But but but... something is not right :Difference between the equivalent SX and SX(O) petrol and diesel models are less than 24000 and 20000 respectively. For all other Hyundai cars, it used to be not less than 1 lakh, sometimes touching 1,50,000.
This can only mean that same model of Petrol and Diesel variants will be having very different features, i.e. the diesel will be stripped off many features.

Or is it that they had already took the premium on petrol variant with the 1.0Ltr Turbo engine?

re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

This is how Venue pricing compares with competition and I must say it is well placed.

* Turbo Petrol

Venue offering sunroof in SX variant is a big plus as its cheaper than the Ecosport and XUV 300 which offer sunroof only in top variants.

Not the right comparison IMO. The 1.0-litre petrol engine is also turbocharged so the typical 1-lakh petrol and diesel engine price difference is not valid here. I think in XUV3OO as well the difference is about 50k

Editing this old post for some doubt:
Isn't the SX(O) as loaded as the XUV3OO W8(0). If yes, Hyundai has undercut the 3OO by over a lakh. In which case, XUV will face the most brutal impact from the baby Hyundai.

Finally the brezza Challenger has arrived who can dent the sales figure. Hyundai doesn't really sell much of sub 4m sedans (excent) so this car can only add to their sales figure.

Also noticed the price difference of 20k between petrol and Diesel. This should become the norm once we roll out BS-VI (due to turbo petrol variants)

re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

This is killer pricing by Hyundai. They have finally given a challenger to the Brezza, which now IMHO needs a petrol motor fast. Also now they have tightened the screws on XUV300, Ecosport and the WRV. This car may be a flying success for Hyundai, but at the cost of the I-20.

re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

Wow. That's a surprise pricing. This is surely going to race on to the second spot(in CSUV segment) quite rapidly. Even the mileage numbers for 1.0 turbo DCT seems great @ 18.2kmpl(although Hyundai petrols are usually not even remotely close to ARAI figures) . Am sure Maruti, Tata, Ford would have sleepless nights now. Mahindra has its work cut out.

Only thing remaining to see is some real test drive results. Having just bought the Jazz CVT, I somehow feel should have waited a bit longer but then the DCT reliability is yet to be seen. The S DCT @ 9.37L ex-showroom seems decent missing out on mainly the rear-wiper & ACC. Rest can be added after-market(alloys, touchscreen etc).

re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

I believe that people who want to have a fully-loaded automatic will still go for EcoSport Titanium+ AT, rather than this stripped down DCT SX+. EcoSport scores in looks department too (personal opinion though).

re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

15000 bookings for the Venue with a good mix of petrol and diesel and automatics in the mix.

65% of these bookings are for petrols with 35% selecting diesels.

re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

@Mods- sorry for the back to back post.

I just realised that Hyundai has very cleverly priced the SX variants under 10 lacs. With the Brezza ZDi+ and Nexon XZ+ diesel priced under 10 lacs the SX variant with its sun-roof in lieu of some features (rear wash/wiper, arm rests etc.) will hit Maruti and Tata pretty hard. A general buyer will see presence of sun-roof for the same price. If Honda can sell WRV on the sun-roof, Hyundai will do it even better. Testing times ahead for Nexon and Brezza.

re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

Excellent pricing.

Now the Venue which is built on the i10 platform is priced at 6.5L for base Petrol, upcoming Brezza Petrol will find it very difficult to undercut it as it is based on Suzuki's Global C-platform and not on the Heartect platform. But to keep the prices under control Suzuki can only bring the K12M in Brezza - not K10C, K12C, or K15B.

Cars like Creta and i20 are going to be affected seriously by this. Hyundai's new launches have not generated much additional numbers, rather, they affected its own stable mates.

Brezza, Ecosport, Nexon, XUV300 will feel the heat.

This can be a second car for the urban customers - easy to own, drive and park.
