Small correction, this is supposedly built on new creta's platform.

re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

Surprisingly good pricing considering the hot C-SUV market, but at the end of the day, it probably doesn't cost much more than a hatch to manufacture, which means margins must still be quite good for Hyundai.

How much does it weigh? As usual, the weight is omitted from Hyundai brochures, which makes predicting performance rather hard.

I somehow don't believe these percentages are correct on the ground. My friend, on my suggestion, went to book Diesel SX(O) at Frontier Hyundai, Dwarka, Delhi. However, for some strange unknown reasons, the sales executive insisted on booking 1.0 DCT SX+, with promise that the variant & colour can be changed later as well without affecting the booking sequence.

My friend gave into his pleadings and booked the DCT, even though he'll be getting Diesel SX(O) only.

So, if same thing is done by other dealers as well, then I don't know how Hyundai will be able to plan production schedules.

That is quite an extensive feature difference between the two models and it seems to justify the 1Lac premium as well

It's Leatherette (synthetic material), not leather; mentioned with ^ symbol in brochure.

With Ford EcoSport Titatinium+ AT ~14.2Lakhs OTR (Venue SX+ DCT @~14lakhs OTR), the competition is good.
Ecosport Titanium+ Offers:
-6 airbags, a slightly higher car, with a pretty good 1.5L dragon engine
Venue SX+ DCT offers:
-A wider car, better mileage, better warranty, DCT, BlueLink, peace of mind considering Hyundai is bound to stay for the long haul

Interesting times. Will have to TD both

This Amount is for Third Party Insurance for the next 2 years, which has been mandated by the government. So, First year will be Full Insurance and Second and Third will be Third Party Insurance.

When you renew for the second year, you should exclude the Third Party Insurance portion.

re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

Any information about the media drives, especially the 1.0 Manual?
I'm not confident with any DCT within the 30L price range in India. Low end usage and gearing ratios are what I might be interested for City and Highway usage.

Any chance a Poll be added for the preferred engine variant? Would give an idea where the users might head to?

re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

To me it seems a Creta killer too, from the Hyundai loyalist point of view. Venue has same silhouette, almost falls in the same segment i.e. CSUV, similar power and torque figures (may be better due to lesser weight of venue). What else remains in the Creta to show off as distinctive features to command 2-4 lakhs premium over Venue?
Powered driver seats and front ventilated seats offered only in the topmost Executive variant cannot keep the sales up for long.

Other than that, are the following visible aspects good enough to keep up the case for Creta, only time and Indian buyers mindset will tell:

1. 4+ meters length
2. Better proportion
3. Hive body design
4. A little more cabin space
5. Bigger engine
6. 50 liters larger boot

We have already seen how Verna's sales dwindled over time in spite of having stand-out features, and increase of Creta's sales, due to mostly India's then found SUV craze.

I think only the Hyundai loyalists wanting in a better proportionate car and safer design (read : longish bonnet / crumple zone) and having additional money to spend on a bigger car to show off, will only buy Creta. Interesting time ahead to see in the sales chart.

All Engines are BS 4. Missed opportunity or calculated omission to raise the prices northwards?

We can understand the price difference for Diesel vehicles, but Petrol one's could've been launched as BS 6 Compliant from the initial stage itself. If not old 1.2, the 1 litre turbo should have been launched BS 6. The 1 litre turbo Petrol has a hefty premium, but still BS 4.

Agree. That's a substantial difference and some useful features could have been added to the DCT trim. I am looking at MT so expressed my view accordingly.

On the same note, have you booked yet?

The entry level pricing seems to be ok, but I dont think 9.3 L for the DCT version is justified. Its a whopping 50% more than the entry level price. The base variant with DCT should have been made available for 8.5 L

It's officially there in the Harrier XZ which is also a manual. Good feature to have IMO , especially for the incline mall-jams

I think you are making the mistake of comparing the DCT pricing to the 1.2 Kappa pricing. The DCT is the Turbo Petrol whose base variant costs 8.21 L. So 9.35 is just a lakh more. I think its justified.

The OTR price list in Hyderabad. Head-on with EcoSport and Brezza rather slightly undercutting both of them.

Venue is a clear winner when compared to Brezza on almost all aspects. But, it will take a bit more to outrightly beat EcoSport esp when it comes to Safety aspects.
