re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

With all the hulla baloo about BlueLink and connectivity features, they could have offered these pan models. What's the point when the one most talked about feature is missing in half the variants!

And available on the SX(o) manual variants as well.

Automatic doesn't get a top-end variant, so should be the reason it has more features in lower variants.

re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

Ok so venue doesn’t even have a sliding armrest in any of the variants but the top one. I can understand them wanting to keep 6 airbags away from all the variants, but keeping basic features like a sliding armrest or rear wash/wipe from the lower variants is criminal. I have booked a venue dct (whatever top variant is available) and I was very keen on buying this car. I must say, I am not so much keen anymore, especially with me liking the ecosport quite a lot. Considering the discounts I can get on an ecosport coupled with the fact that this car is most probably going to be overpriced, I most probably will drop buying this car! Also I need to be able to see through my rear window when it rains.

Hill Assist Control in a Manual SX(0). Haven't seen that in a manual car unless its a printing mistake.

When I look at the feature list, SX MT variant also makes good candidate for me. The only key feature missing is Rear Wash & Wipe and Front Centre Armrest.

Now, if I were in the market for this vehicle, I'll be thinking if I should spend on SX(O) for just these features.

re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

Venue pricing - Fair pricing IMO, in fact its good considering Hyundai's pricing strategies. The turbo petrol SX (O) MT is well priced against Ecosport Ecoboost S @ 11.37 & XUV 300 W8(O) @ 11.49

The feature loaded 1.4 diesel SX (O) is priced at 10.60 which is much cheaper than the Ecosport S diesel & XUV 300 W8(O) diesel

1.2 Kappa Petrol

E - 6.50
S - 7.20

1.0 GDi Turbo Petrol

S MT - 8.21
S DCT - 9.35
SX MT - 9.54
SX DCT - 11.10
SX (O) MT - 10.60

1.4 U2 CRDi Diesel

E - 7.75
S - 8.45
SX - 9.78
SX(O) - 10.84

Venue's USP is the Turbo petrol. Ecosport and XUV 300 don't have Turbo Petrol AT, Nexon has an AMT & Brezza doesn't have a petrol option.

re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

E starts at 6.5, S comes at 7.2 for the 1.2 L. Unexpected pricing but most will go for the 1.0 i guess.

re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

The pricing seems to be in line with everyone´s expectation. The SX+ DCT should be around 13 lakhs on-road in most cities which is not a bad price I feel.

All prices below:

Top end diesel is 10.85, which makes it a lot cheaper than the 3OO. I think this is very good pricing.

Quite the price spread
It's slightly lower than what I expected TBH.

So it is the SX(O) that gets the DCT, not SX - that's good!

EDIT: Realized I read it wrong, it is indeed the SX

re: Hyundai Venue : Official Preview. EDIT: Launched @ 6.5 lakhs

Really surprised by the pricing here. I was expecting Hyundai to charge a premium but doesn't seem to be the case to me. With the steady price increase Ecosport has seen over the years and the way XUV300 is priced, this is not bad at all!
Ford, Tata and Mahindra will take the most impact while I am sure Maruti is going to go full throttle on the Brezza update.

Now I am really wanting to see how the Sales number change in this segment.

Shreyas, it is the SX+ with 7DCT.
Due to column constraints, they put the SX+ in SX(O) column.
