- Do not take basic accessory kit from the dealer
- Dealer fitted front parking sensors are very useful
- Do under body coating (black). It helps to hide that ugly wheel wells.

The only useful stuff here is the bucket mat set and city branded carpet set which you can’t get from outside. Rest all stuff can be had from outside in less than what this kit costs- 9999/-

Is there any nice floor mat plus carpet set available at Amazon for the 5th Gen city? If yes, please share some links.

Also, the price is expected to increase from 1st April. What does your dealer have to say regarding this if you made the booking earlier but make final payment after 1st?

Honda mat part of basic kit is not good. I stopped using and got another one.

check "GFX Tpv Premium 3D Life Long Car Floor Mats Compatible With Honda City 2020 Onward" on amazon. It is good but do not expect 3D Kagu mat quality. I paid ~3150 in 2022 but the price now shows 4200.
You can see the pictures here https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/india...ml#post5291662 (The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62)

edit: carhatke site has the gfx mat for 3699

Thank you for the heads up. Are you also using any carpet over this mat or this is all? Amazon price is almost 4500/-; Never purchased from carhatke- is it a good site to buy stuff?

Thanks.

No, I am not using any mat over the GFX one. I bought it from carhatke site and they delivered it in few days. I did not have any prior buying experience with them.

I purchased GFX 3D mats from Zapcart. Delivery was delayed a couple of times, but a representative from Zapcart used to constantly call to enquire, which I liked.
One thing about the driver side mat - mine is an automatic, and I had to trim a bit near the pedals to ensure no interference.

Hello,

After much delaying and deliberation, I have decided to move on from my 9 year old Nano.

My requirements -

Must haves:
a. Good suspension with lower back support
b. Fantastic NVH levels - can this be solved by 3M dampening services?
c. Less than 15 lacs on road (lower the better). I will pay upfront and I do not want to take a loan for a car right now.
d. This will be a car owned by me till 2027-28 which is when I will upgrade to some 800km range fast charging fully feature loaded EV for less than 25lacs.
e. auto dimming IRVM
f. Status symbol - I do not believe in these things (I've owned a Nano for 14 years..haha) but right now I need something that has perceived value of being "rich" - Like a Corolla

Good to have but not necessary:
a. 360 cam
b. lane watch cam
c. ventilated seats
d. high sitting due to back issue and long legs

I do not care about any other feature from cars today.

Usage:
90% city. I prefer flying to destinations and hiring cars there or taking trains. So, long drives are very limited. Might do Statue of Unity type of road trips and maybe a total of three Goa/Gir type long road trips in next 3-4 years.

My running is low. Nano - 40k in 9 years. This might change in the future but on an avg its about 300-500kms a month. But you never know if I have to take it out for longer drives to Lonavla types.

My thoughts -
1. Used 2021-22 Honda City ZX top model:
You have mentioned such wonderful things about it. Spinny shows options from 2021-22 manufacture years for about 11-13 lacs.

2. Citroen C3 Aircross/Basalt:
Will these cars be worth the wait for feature loaded versions? But then they will go beyond 15 lacs.

3. Jump into EVs right now? But which long range EV is there for less than 15 lacs? Or should I spend 20lacs on a good EV and keep it long term? I wanted to wait for better & cheaper EVs by 2027 or so

4. Used Toyota Corolla 2017 or newer:
I hear it has good NVH, suspension. Spinny has some options for about 10-12lacs. Will it suit my requirements and is it a better sedan/car than 2021-22 manufactured Honda City?

5. Used Hyundai Creta/Seltos:
High sitting and good NVH are two good positives from my checklist.

6. Used Tata Hexa:
It is fantastic value for money. On Spinny, I see some 2018 XTA 70k run for about 9-10lacs. I do not know about reliability etc. I am confused.

7. Used 2019-2020 Diesel Hyundai Verna:
Since I have thrown in two sedans Honda City and Toyota Corolla into the options, I thought a diesel Verna might be good too. I remember you mentioning somewhere in 2019-20 that you have recommended diesel Verna to many people over the 4th gen Honda City at that time.

Please share some thoughts on this. What do you think from your experience?

Hello Sir, I can observe that you have fitted a 70mai dashcam in your vehicle. could you please confirm the following:

1. Have you hard wired it? (if yes, could you please confirm which fuse points you chose for power supply)
2. Have you installed rear camera as well?
3. Any issue with the warranty ?

Thanks in advance.

Re: The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62

Hi all, I have 12 years of driving experience (shade under 50k kms), I know that's not much. My first car was an Etios Liva, which I owned till last Jan this year after which now I am a proud owner of a V CVT.
In my Etios, I have driven on the hilly roads of Ooty, Kodaikanal, and Yercaud with no health issues.
But yesterday I did a drive to Vagamon in my City, but I had motion sickness and ended up vomiting.
Is there any difference based on the car we drive?

Hi, I haven't hardwired it. It is connected to the USB port and I got the wires routed through the A pillar by Honda ASS itself during delivery. So warranty is not affected. And I only have front cam but on a hindsight, I should have got the rear cam as well. I suggest you get the rear cam too regardless you hardwire it or not.

Were you a passenger or the driver? I get sick if I travel in the back seat, especially in the mountain roads. No issues while driving though.

City is a lower car than the Etios so, I would rule out body roll. In case the car was new, then some people have nausea due to the new car smell or any particular car perfume may have triggered it.

I was driving, that's what makes it more perplexing. Never before have I encountered this. Could be due to some other health issues, need to investigate.

Agreed, and roomier too if I'm not wrong.

The ASC folks after servicing the vehicle apply a lot of plastic/interior dressing. At my ASC it's always on the higher side, so much so that the steering and the pedals are slippery. When it's under the hot sun I don't like the air inside so I open the windows first to let that air out. Also after taking the vehicle delivery I use wet wipes to wipe the steering wheel, for both cleaning the dressing off and for better grip.

I'm not saying that is the issue in your case but just my two cents, if your trip was after a service and involved any of these factors try to let that air out, if you use an air freshener, spray near the footwells with the blower on. I hope that'll do, take care.

Anyone using body cover for their 5th Gen city? Looking for one with cotton lining inside. Ordered one from Amazon but they sent incorrect car cover. Quality seemed good though. No option to contact seller hence initiated a return. This one:
https://www.amazon.in/gp/aw/d/B09SV9...b_b_asin_title

Honda OE cover is for 1850/- but doesn’t have a liner inside.

Re: The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62

How bad is this? The car is 2.5 years old and washed may be once in 2 months. The silencer was anti-rust coated from dealership in the first month of ownership. Should I get this fixed with another layer of coating?
