re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

In the absence of actual sales numbers, its too early to make these statements. In January/February we will see the sales figures, and its sustenance. However, Magnite is indeed promising and I wish Nissan the very best

Thanks to the Renault-Nissan Alliance's smart investment in the CMF-A and CMF-A+ platforms in India, they were able to come up with an extreme value-for-money offering such as the Magnite. This is the product that's going to drastically change Nissan's trajectory in India.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

I voted for Nissan Magnite. This car has already made a stir in Indian Car market given the sheer no of reviews and test drive reports in various media. I also experienced this car in person in Nissan Showroom and found this car as absolute value for money with bundle of safety and convenience features right from base model.

A premium package in not so premium price, also exposed the insane kind of pricing of some car brands.

Wishing Nissan all the success with their new Magnite !

I believe its NEXON EV,
Step up in right direction with coming times we will see more of EVs which will bring infra costs, initial costs much lower.

I have not driven one but hope to get one in years to come

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

Voted for Mahindra Thar.

It is mind blowing to see a car of this type scoring 4 stars in GNCAP crash test. The Thar has also been one of my favourites.

The other options in consideration were Tata Altroz, Nissan Magnite and Tata Nexon EV. If I had a second option, I would have voted for the Altroz. Both the Thar and the Altroz share the same place in my opinion.

Cheers.

Got the voting eligibility just in time.

My brain says Tata Nexon EV and the heart says Mahindra Thar (enthusiast feeling) and I choose my heart.

So my vote for the Team-BHP COTY 2020 goes to Mahindra Thar. Simply because Thar looks outstanding in the latest avatar and also happy it got a 4 star safety mark. On the long waiting periods, hope Mahindra catches up by ramping up the production capacity.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

Voted for the Nexon EV simply because it's the first practical EV in India and that too within the same price range as its ICE sisters. The car is actually driving EV adoption in India and the only reason I'm not buying one is because I love my road trips and the real world range of about 200 kms is too less for my liking. The day Tata bumps up the range to 500 kms, I will seriously think about trading in one of my existing cars for it.

Voted for THAR!

I don't see any other car when Thar is on the list. It is a dream to own one for a decade. No other car in the market has a character as the Thar does.

Voted Nissan Magnite!

Late but latest to the party! The other contenders came with a fair reputation already. For example, Sonet rode on Seltos success. Thar was makeover of an already cult vehicle for example. Altroz picked up the goodies in Tata stable.

Magnite deserves full marks, as the market (including some over here had written it off, by stereotyping Nissan's efforts). Nissan was certainly bold to bring a beautiful car in the big stage at the fag end of the year!

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

Voted for Mahindra Thar.

Its my all time favourite and was quite pleased to see a decent product launched by Mahindra. After Thar my vote would go to Kia Sonet.

On the voting, glad to see top 3 (as of now) are Indian brand cars.
1. Thar
2. Altroz
3. Nexon

This clearly shows these Indian companies know their customer's needs and are delivering cars the people want.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

Voted for the Thar. I feel all the other cars in this list are evolutionary in the nature of their improvements (though the EVs are great cars especially the Nexon EV, which is much more sanely priced than the ZS EV). The reason I have voted for the Thar is that despite not being revolutionary in looks or even interiors (it has the same steering wheel as my TUV!), it has come out as a completely surprise package for most. And kudos for bringing automatics and petrols in a niche product when even mainstream SUVs either don't have a petrol or couldn't care about them.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

I voted for Nissan MAGNITE for very reason that Nissan/Renault is able to show that a safe car with good looks , decent powertrain ( mainly the 1L Turbo with CVT ) can also be value for money. It can attract people from Tiago class to the Sonnet class! lets see the sales figures in coming months and influence it makes on NISSAN's fortune in the market .

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

Test drove the Nexon EV. Blew my socks off. The acceleration, together with the fact that it is a home grown electric car definitely put it on top my purchase list.

While I am sure Thar will be the winner and for good reasons, it is the Nexon EV that truly embodies what Indian automobile market is and should look like in the future.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

Voted for AltroZ!! a sturdy Beautiful Premium Homegrown Car with tons of goodies.

Next Choice was Nexon EV - Practical and fun to drive EV. I think we should have a separate segment for Electric car of the year as going forward these launches will only increase. The Electric Car segment needs a separate Platform.

Thar would have been also a close second had it had a little bit more space!! Nevertheless a rare Off Road car which can be used as a mainstream city / Office drive!!

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Thar!

One of the few moments to cherish in the otherwise awful 2020 was voting here in this poll. Three awesome cars and that too from the big two truly Indian manufacturers

Altroz? - truly modern and elegant, excellent safety scores, she's la petite.
Nexon EV? - built like a tank, comes fully charged and yeah, it can charge like a bull and it can recharge you.
Thar? - the talk of the town-village-wherever you go car, it can make you an excellent public speaker.

Finally voted for the Mahindra.

Reason? well, it can go almost anywhere anytime and bring you back safely to your farm/house.

Congrats to the Mahindra Thar, Tata Altroz and Tata Nexpn EV for pulling the bulk of the votes. I sincerely hope these votes turn into sales numbers for Tata and Mahindra.

I guess MG and Audi ought to take a cue from this poll and hopefully tune down their expectations from the Gloster and Q2.
