I can also see 3 VW Taigun's there (From Left). The extreme right one is Kushaq Ambition (Silver Alloys, Skid Plates). I am awaiting Media Drive of Kushaq and want a detailed review from TeamBHP.

While the New Octavia gets DQ381-7F, Skoda assures the DSG's reliability in Kushaq/Taigun!

Re: Skoda Kushaq | A Close Look & Preview

One of the staff members in Udaipur dealership said that they have started unofficial bookings with refundable token of INR 51k. Has anyone got similar feedbacks in other cities? Also, how is the order queue managed once the bookings get opened officially in such cases?

Clear picture from the posts above (click and open to see the enlarged view). It looks like S-Cross.

Yes, very much! Hope Skoda prices this aggressively. A base variant starting at Rs. 8.99 L ex-showroom can set the cat amongst the pigeons!

The cars parked at the rear end look like the Taigun.

They are Taigun. All 3 variants.

You can seen another pic showing them clearly with their different grilles and alloys in the article I shared above.

Pretty much same! Actually S-cross is a wonderful vehicle and unfortunately got ignored in crowded C-SUV market. It's a very capable car and well built Maruti. Unfortunately Maruti stopped 1.6 Diesel. Hope Maruti will bring it with new 1.5 diesel with some updates. Sure it will have good number of takers.

Hope Skoda will price this car sensibly. For this car, 1.0 Liter will be small. 1.5 one should be exciting. 1.5 Top end should fall below 15 Lacs Ex-showroom, then it will sell in good numbers.

Skoda Kushaq completes road-testing in India.

Skoda says Kushaq test cars in India have clocked almost 17 lakh kilometres.

Expected to come with two engine options and three variants
Quote:
Skoda has announced that road-testing for the Kushaq has been logged at almost 17 lakh kilometres across the country. The brand says that driving and laboratory tests are important not only in the development but also for the subsequent homologation of a new model. Skoda has also revealed that testing for the upcoming Kushaq SUV has been conducted in varying temperatures and regions like the deserts of Rajasthan, high-altitude locations in the Himalayas or the Nilgiri Mountains, as well as urban traffic conditions of India's most populated cities. We have also spotted testmules of the Kushaq multiple times in Mumbai and in the outskirts.

Skoda says that the Kushaq has been designed keeping in mind the wide variety of scenarios it would be used in, including dirt roads and roadsflooded with water during monsoons. On the basis of this, specific changes have been made in the Kushaq, like the horn’s placement has been moved from behind the radiator grille to behind the front bumper. As far as mechanicals go, Skoda has taken into account the driving habits of many Indian drivers, who don’t like to change gears frequently and often start from slow speeds in the second gear, and has stress-tested the Kushaq's clutch for long durationsin heavy traffic conditions.

Quote:
It is not uncommon for a car in India to serve as a means of transport for several people at once. The tunnel in front of the rear seats is therefore deliberately kept as low as possible to make it as comfortable as possible for the passenger in the middle. Indian drivers, on the other hand, like to sit high up and very close to the steering wheel, so the developers and test engineers have to make sure that all the controls are with easy reach even with the seat set up like this.
New central development workshop takes care of Kushaq's testing in India [ the pics( Kushaq +Taigun) in the above posts are also from this workshop ]

The Volkswagen Group's newly built central development workshop and technical centre in Pune helped with the Kushaq’s electronics and acoustic properties testing, along with other field testing preps.

This centre collects all the evaluation data from a test vehicle once it goes back to base. Here, technicians can also make use of what is known as a “breadboard”, which allows the electricals to be connected and tested outside the car. This testing centre is being used for all Volkswagen Group India 2.0 vehicles, including the upcoming Taigun SUV and a sedan each from Volkswagen and Skoda.

Don't think so. 1.0 TSI in the Rapid/Polo is simply brilliant. Great refinement for a 3 cylinder and more than adequate power, too. This video may give an idea about the engine's performance.

I don't want to take anything away from Skoda but all of these numbers will only look good in documentaries if it results in positive product quality and hence positive customer experience.

In stocks lingo, cautious optimism is what I feel for Skoda Kushaq. I want to make this purchase but the big question is whether it will be able to work for a decade without hurting me.

Well Kushaq's promotional campaigns have been uninteresting so far. All these videos and pics have the same stuff being repeated. Of recent, the spy shots and videos from Fatbiker posted here create more excitement than the company campaigns. With one of our petrol heads in this thread citing instances of manipulation in price related polls in an FB group recently, I seriously hope SKODA does not mess it up.
