Yes, have driven the car for approximately 700kms in 6 days, average mileage on MID is 25.2 KMPL, increases 0.5 KMPL after office run each way.
Weighted average shows higher mileage, but will take a final call after 1000 kms of running.

I think hybrids and high capacity petrol engines are affected by driving style to a very large extent. Driving the car in ECO mode with gradual acceleration versus pedal to metal driving in NORMAL or POWER will definitely lead to very separate results, can also be equated to a chauffeur driving vs the owner driving himself/herself.

Thank you.
The hybrid part applies well to the bits of town you need to navigate through, to get to the highways!
Go for it. Whack it on cruise control at double digit speeds, and you'll see a proper kmpl coming back.

The front facia of Hycross looks very similar to the good old Suzuki Grand Vitara - quite handsome. The bulky rear resembles X5 as someone rightly pointed out.

The front of the car looks generally appealing - and is unlikely to offend or invoke strong reactions. Similar to the current Crysta. Makes sense for mass market appeal.

Havent seen the rear pics in an uncamouflaged avatar - but the renders seem to suggest a rather bland rear. Hoping they play around with the rear LED lights to make it more contemporary

The glass area looks fairly generous - along with the panaromic sunroof - this should appeal to buyers. Space based on the dimensions should be at par/ better than Crysta

Along with the above, fuel efficiency, proven powertrains, Toyota badge - ticks nearly all boxes

It looks sweet, giving the SUV vibe from the front. This is an important launch for Toyota. The car which had diesel attached to its name has given up the diesel engine, this is quite a striking change.

We will have a hard time letting go of the notion that Innova=Diesel. Hope the used car market doesn't go bonkers with all the Innova diesels pricing. I wish good luck to all the D-4D enthusiasts out there. Must say this an important chapter in the Innova's story. Let's see how it pans out.

I don't see any improvement in the boot space even though the car's length has been increased. Looks like Carnival would continue to be 1 up over Innova in this department.

The Carnival is one up in size. The Carnival is a Sienna rival, with the Hycross below in the pecking order.

re: Toyota Innova Hycross, now unveiled

Can we expect Innova Hycross to come with independent rear suspension or will it come with cost-effective torsion beam suspension? I think Voxy/Noah comes with torsion bean suspension but not entirely sure of it.

Dashboard looks like two tone to me with silver accents to highlight. Big screen infotainment seems to be stand out attraction on dashboard this time. Thankfully, no more digit clock which always looked out of place.

I think IRVM is of auto-dimming types, but image is dark and blur in that area to conclusively say so.

What will also be interesting is the distribution of features across the trims. Will we have a true top end with automatic + 8 seater with various engine options and variations of other entertainment features.

Also, boot space would be a big variable here given that this is based on a new platform and may not necessarily replicate theInnova Crysta bootspace (for better or worse?).

That is one big ugly screen. No wonder many company heads say that Indians and Chinese need bigger screen than anything else.

Torsion beam it is. The Noah/Voxy also has torsion beam suspension, though am not sure if the AWD versions have or not. The TNGA-C platform definitely supports independent rear suspension. A major factor which makes me feel that this won't that accomplished a successor to the Innova and would be a sub brand.

Toyota Indonesia teases the panoramic sunroof with ambient lighting (and rear entertainment screens?)

re: Toyota Innova Hycross, now unveiled

Very interesting and somewhat unique in this category
1. Roof mounted A/c vents along with panoramic sunroof (solves the problem of A/c blowers near knees in other pano sunroof cars)
2. Ambient lighting near sunroof
3. Rear entertainment screens for 2nd row

Should all help differentiate vis-a-vis other 3 row MPVs in this segment
