Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Tata Altroz XZ diesel - 89bhp 200 Nm.

For reference, clocked 48k on odo.

When speeds maintained around 100 kmph, fuel efficiency is around 21 kmpl. Calculated with average from multiple trips. This is with Tank full method. Odo usually shows around 1.5 kmpl more.

Note: This is with AC set at 24 degrees all the time. And when i drove with a slightly heavy foot, and NOT with an aim to get highest fuel efficiency.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Recently went on a 2500 km long trip from Tezpur to Kolkata and back. Got an efficiency of 14.5 and the overall efficiency increased from 13.0 to 13.1 km per litre. Sharing a pic of the display.

Hello,
I am Sandeep, I am from Mysore and new to Team BHP. Recently I had gone through your post and thought to reply.
I have a Tata Nano 2015 XTA (624cc Petrol)
Current ODO: 30K+
Fuel tank size: 25L
City tank range: 350 to 600 Km (with AC ON all the time)
Highway tank range: 450 to 550 Km (with AC ON all the time and speed around 70-80km/hr)
I refill the tank normally when DTE shows around 50-60kms.
Recently I visited from Mysore to St. John's Hospital Bangalore and checked my car FE. It was 20.2kmpl as per MID and 20.4kmpl as per full tank method. Total distance covered was 381.5km fuel consumed 18.7 liters. Around 305 kms highway drive and 75 kms is peak hour traffic of Bangalore and Mysore. Hope this is information finds useful to you.
Also please share your experience.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

At Different speeds, I get Different mileages;

Montero V6 Petrol;
@140 - 6Kmpl, goes down to 5kmpl with headwinds,
@120 - 7-8Kmpl,
@100 - 9Kmpl

RAV-4 Inline-4, Petrol
@140 - 11-12Kmpl,
@120 - 14-15kmpl,
@100 - 17-18Kmpl,
@ 80 - 20-21Kmpl

The mileages have been calculated on Tank full to full basis and on highways only. 140Kmph is street legal speed here on the highways.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Car: Jeep Compass
Model: 2019 Limited Plus
ODO: 46000
Fuel: Diesel
AC: Always On

I always go for tankful method, numbers match up nicely between MID and Fuelio.
I have consistently been getting above 12kmpl in city driving even in the hills during my road trip to Manali it maintained between 12-14. In Hyderabad bumper to bumper traffic I have seen it go down to 10 but that’s the lowest I have seen on the display.
I am in just awe of the numbers I get on highway if I keep my foot light and just below 100, it hovers around 18 to 20 kmpl and a bit spirited drive would bring it to 16-17.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

We went on a road trip to Goa from Bombay in my friend's XUV 700 automatic 2L petrol.

We drove aprox 1500 km in total using the NH48 via Nipani to go and NH66 via Amba ghat - Malkapur - Karad back on NH48 to Bombay.

We got an average fuel efficiency of 10kmpl.

Average Highway FE (480km Delhi - Jaipur) : 21.7 KPL

Average City FE ( based on 200km in Delhi) : 13.25 KPL both MID & Tankful - Tankful

Passengers: - 2 (City) | 2 (Highway)
Tire Pressure - 35 PSI (Nitrogen)

On the Delhi - Jaipur trip, car was driven @ 80 to 110 kmph in normal mode without any use of paddle-shifters and without any care for fuel efficiency.
Delhi to Ludhiana round trip with speeds between 80 to 115 km/h with mostly done in the range of 85 to 90.

Odometer = 13000km
Total distance = 625km
FE = 19.50km/l (tankful to tankful)
Passengers = 3 adults
Ac was on full time as it is now peak summer in Delhi and Ludhiana.

By the way AC is too good. We travelled during the day time when the sun is at its peak. We set temperature at 26 and blower fan speed at 2 and it was perfect. If we increase speed of fan then it was getting very cold.

After doing 625km, car was showing a range of 50km.

Delhi city FE = 10 to 11km/l. Driving in peak traffic doing 10km distance in 35 minutes averaging 17km/h.

OT: If you manually set fan-speed, the temperature you set doesn’t matter anymore as its out of ACC Mode. When you set ACC to a certain temperature, the system decides what fan speed is adequate, that’s why it’s called ACC. To verify this you can notice the moment you set fan-speed manually, the ACC light turns off.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

i20 N Line N8 DCT

Daily running mix of city + highway ~100kms.
Purchased April 2023, kms done so far 7800.

Highway - 13-13.5 kmpl ( cruise control @ 90-110kmph)
City - 8.5 kmpl.
Combined - 9.8-10kmpl.

Fuel tank size - 32L.
Full tank range - 320-340kms.

Quite the fast drinker for such a small car. Frankly expected it to be a bit more efficient.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Car: Honda City 4th Gen VX MT 2015
Primarily City Driving in Mumbai
AC Always On and Set at 19-20 degrees
89000 kms

City Driving: 10-11 kmpl
Highway: 17-18 kmpl

I used to live in Noida for a couple of years and could easily get 14-15 kmpl there in the City but that figure is only a dream in Mumbai traffic conditions.

Car: Maruti Baleno Zeta AT 2019
Only City Driving in Mumbai and in the worst traffic in Powai/Saki Naka/Marol area
AC Always On: 20-21 degrees
9000 km

City Driving: 12 kmpl
