Re: Maruti Suzuki SS80 DX

looks like a fairly good car, but seems like the car has already been sold for a fancy price

The car is sold, and its certainly NOT a fancy price. Infact the buyer got a great deal.

Is that so? The guy on the phone had informed yesterday that the asking Today morning he says it is sold.So I assumed that it was sold for that price which can be said a fancy price, considering that the car doesnt, have original sealed beam stanley headlights, park lights, roof gutter trim ,none of the 3 manuals. I doubt whether it has the OE stereo, carpet, rear chrome strip, tokai denso, tail lamps, tool kit,etc.etc... 2 months back a Fully original single owner DXcar with working A/c,original keys, manuals and 5 brand new tyres and battery was sold for Rs.65000/-

Yes, as you have rightly stated, the price quoted by them was 45k. But the price that the car finally got sold for is significantly less. Even considering the shortcomings which you have mentioned, its a good price for the buyer.

The SS80 which got sold for 65k was a real collector worthy piece, its now in cochin iirc. Was that your car?

I was mentioning about Jai's car which was sold 2 months ago to somebody in Bangalore. If I happen to chance upon a really good SS80 do you think I will allow it to go away!!You must be mentioning about the car which was advertised in OLX few months back.I was aware of that car .It was restored by an NRI at a garage here and sold when he went abroad.

Yes the car has been sold at a sensible price (buyer point of view).
Such cases certainly rekindle hopes of getting good deals on SS80's in the market.

Posted it here hoping that someone from the forum could get it!

Will continue efforts to find good SS80's for the benefit of forum members.

Re: Maruti Suzuki SS80 DX

Guys, need suggestions what colour would suit the SS80 most to give it a period look

I've short-listed on the following orignal shades ( Pastel Blue being my choice)
Red
Pastel Blue
White

Wheras all my close friends asking me to paint it in some newer shade
Black
Azure Grey
Silver
etc

What you guys suggest?

I would suggest going by the stock colours, especially your choice of Powder/Pastel Blue (my fav. colour!)

Black IMHO, doesnt look good on small jap cars like the 800s.

Silver too boring and wannabe 'modern' in case of this car.

Donno about 'Azure' Grey.

In my opinion I would go for Black (sorry for contradicting with you shyam) but my opinion differs form others when it comes to color, all my collection doesn't have original shades esp the JAWA which are to colored in period original shades but I did the same in Silver but it came out awesome and every time I see my brother driving I feel proud of myself.

Black will definitely give an period looks with silver rims, if you opt for alloys she will become instantly a modern car, think about it in case you want a unique ss80, if not this I will sure opt for white because an SS80 in white looks angel.

Re: Maruti Suzuki SS80 DX

Looks fairly complete that white car. also its a DX!

Can one fit seatbelts from any other car into a Non-DX SS80 or do they have to be orignal ones?
