re: Shell in India (fuel, lubes, outlets)

Any idea if the Shell bunk in Lingrajapuram, Bangalore is temporarily closed?

I went there this morning and the entrance/exit were barricaded and one side of it, were their store and office is located, was cut off with a barb wired fence!

However, there was a oil tanker parked inside, so not sure what is happening with employees around.

It's open and they are functioning. I never used to visit this thread until now. Last time I filled at shell was some 3-4 years back and the fuel was expensive. I passed this bunk yesterday and saw an hand written board "53.10/-" and noticed the long line of cars. Planning to go there today and fill the car.

Filled fuel near Shell near UB City. Even after the price drop, they were selling diesel at 53.60. Shouldn't it have dropped much and should be closer to 53 bucks?

While the oil companies have reduced the prices. The nuts in the state government have increased tax by 1%. So net reduction is neutralized. All the more reason to get tanked up outside KA.

re: Shell in India (fuel, lubes, outlets)

Went to the Shell in Gottigere this morning. "Saar, please wait for 5 minutes".

"Why?", I asked.

"No electricity, saar" was the reply.

"Don't you have a generator?", I asked.

"We do, but it has run out of diesel saar"

I waited 15 mins then left without filling up. Bunch of jokers.

Normal petrol was Rs. 69.47 here in Pune - at Mundhwa shell bunk.
They have engine oil change facility as well (perhaps it is free) which some two wheeler guys were availing.

Yep, it is free as long one purchases the oil from them.

It's free even for cars, but they need to have a vehicle ramp / dug-out / lift to perform an oil-change effectively & safely, and only some Shell franchisees have it (at the moment).

Shell team is very slow in updating their website. In fact for a change the Indian Oil companies update it very promptly. Last Shell price update was done on 17th March. Price has reduced twice after that.

For example the site says diesel in Chennai in still 54.20, while i had already filled @ 53.00/litre 2 weeks back. I will fill her up this weekend. Will get to know the price when i visit the pump
