Indica was never sold in America. It was in U.K and didn't sell well. Tata blamed Rover for not marketing it properly.

This thread has lasted for nearly 18 months now. I assume the problems started even before. I hope the Tatas dont discontinue the Sumo before this case is closed! .

Leave alone the merger even Rover itself doesn't exist anymore! Got sold out last year to two Chinese consortiums.

I have known somebody in the dealership. Apparently the vehicles dispatched to the dealers are often different from the ones ordered. Also, some dealers can be really bad. He knew one where they drove around a Sumo for 1.5 lakhs and then sold it! Similarly he himself accepted that the dealer was careless and new vehicles were randomly driven by executives. If one met with an accident it was just serviced and delivered. This is a common practise with almost all car dealers in varying degree!

I think the dealer delivered might be the culprit in these cases. The stories from friends in dealers are scary! If I ever buy a Tata I make sure that I get it through some friend in the dealership...

Sorry for the delayed update folks,The case has been posted to 29.08.2007 for hearing. I have now crossed the second stage of the process. The first is called addmission followed by Notice, Hearing, Agruments & Judgement. The same lawyers appeared for the Tatas as their representatives. Lets wait and watch.

So long....

The whole news is shocking , infact as said by many TATA doesnt bother anything about its customer after post sale.
The Concorde Motors in Bangalore is one such dealer( Concorde is TATAs own dealership). They also misbehave with customers and change or to be rightly called swap parts from other vehicles.
TATAs can restrict to making trucks as they do not kow anything about customer relations.
Mr. Prasad - CEO of Concorde Motors , Bangalore is the one who leads Concrode Group sitting in Bangalore.

All the best. Hope you do win this case. If anyone goes thru this thread, I doubt if they will ever buy the version 1.0 (V1) of TATA's 1 lakh car !!
I mean, I dont wanna to be guinea pig for their V1 vehicles. I would rather buy the V2.

Thank you all for the support and encouraging words.

Max, the Tata Lawyer is a sweet and smart looking guy of about 35 years. He was probably the best dressed advocate in the whole Courthall. The guy himself does'nt feel too good about Tata Cars and told me that he would never ever recommend a Tata product to any of his friends. He also expressed shock and surprise as to how I got to select one of their models. After my arguments at the District Forum he didn't seem too confident about the outcome of the case.

I saw him the other day at the State Forum and felt that the man has lost some of his sheen and was attired in a shabby manner as other Lawyers.

BTW, my case was on the 21st and not on the 16th as mentioned by me eariler

So long....
