Does the car in question has a very expensive music system, or very nice alloys, or minor mods such as FFE that your friend has fallen for and has agreed to pay high price?

Had an opportunity to drive the car today at the owners place. The dents look bad on the roof. It has a basic Alpine stereo system with tweeters at the front. The engine sounded smooth and the gearbox was slick. Nothing more than that. My friend has offered 1.8L as a start price. Let us see how this falls through.

I would like to sell my 2011 Scorpio sle with abs. It has run 27000kms. Used mostly for long out station trips with family. Driven only by me all along. I am selling this suv as we are observing less need for 8 seater vehicle. Me and my brother want to settle for hatchbacks. Have accessories like nudge bar, hella lights, Marvin leather seats and pioneer music system.

Appreciate if you can let me know the expected price.

I can give you some indicative pricing. A new SLE costs about 9.5L ex showroom. Add about 1.25L and on road should be max 10.75L. In this segment petrol cars depreciate by about 25-30% in 2 yrs but the Scorpio should hold its value better and maybe depreciate by about 15-20%. So that should take the resale to about 8.75-9.25L + about 20-30k for the accessories ( depends on whether you get a buyer who values it )

Hi friends, need a help. I am looking to sell my Maruti Esteem Vxi 2004 model (single owner). It has 50,500 kms on the odo. I have spent some money on it and it now rides Michelins XM2s, has got a new battery (Amron), new brake pads and I also got the clutch plates changes (old ones were fine as per Maruti ***, still got them changed). Its Indore registed and I am taking it there to sell it.

Can you guys help me with an indicative price that I should expect here.

Like narayan said, I think a fair price would be around 9.25-9.5L. Scorpio's generally command good resale values. Try finding an individual buyer rather than a dealer. A dealer will always try to bring down the price.
Quote a price of around 9.75L & sell it off at 9.25-9.5L

I'm not aware of Indore prices but in Mumbai,a fair price for a 2004 Esteem run 50,500 kms on the odo would be in the region of 1-1.2L if you sell it to a dealer & 1.2-1.4L,max 1.5L, if you can find an individual buyer. As always, try finding an individual buyer.
Used car buyers are generally not bothered if the car runs on Michelins or MRF, unless he's an car enthusiast. Ditto for the battery.

Came across a March 2011 Ritz Vxi with 31K on the ODO. Was quoted 3.9 lacs. What would be good price for this. Carwale has mentioned 3.8, but i am not sure if these are on the higher side.

Thanks Varun! Your post was surely helpful. I was also thinking about asking 1.5L from an individual buyer but after seeing what sellers are asking on tbhp classifieds and on carwale, I was thinking if I should ask for more. I guess will keep the price at 1.5L or thereabouts.

I feel Rs. 3.5 lacs will be appropriate price for March 2011 Ritz with 31000 on ODO.

Rs. 3.9 lacs is on higher side because it has already done 31000 kms & tyres will be due for change in another 5000 - 10000 kms.

I am in the process of selling my Zen Estilo Lxi and buying Honda Brio. I approached the local Honda dealer's Auto Terrace section. When I told them the details of my car they said, they had just bought an Estilo 2010 model for 1.2 lac. I know estilo's resale is bad but it can't be this bad.

Zen Estilo Lxi Jan 2007
Insured till Jan 2014
36000 km
Pioneer Head unit with 2 pioneer 6x9 speakers
No major accident, some minor scratches on the bumpers
Silver colour
Has been driven in patiala and chandigarh, always parked in garage. Service history available.

Like Jignesh, I too feel that 3.9L is a little too much to ask. 3.25-3.5L seems comfortable. Remember petrol cars are not in favour in the market these days. So haggle hard.

1.2L for 2010 Estilo is BULLS***. The dealer's just taking you for a ride.The minimum that your car's worth is 1.75-2L. Try asking for quotes from other dealers as well. Better still, sell it to an individual. This will take some time but at least you wont get ripped off.

Exactly what I said. I told him Forget brio, if you can get me an estilo at that price, I would have a 2010 estilo instead.

Frankly speaking previous model of Zen Estilo fetches very low resale value in market.

You can expect approx Rs. 1.5 lacs for your Jan 2007 Zen Estilo Lxi if you sell it to a Used Car Dealer & direct buyer may offer upto Rs. 1.7 lacs. Anything more than that will be a bonus, in my personal opinion.

I will suggest, if CNG is available in your city, rather than selling this Car, install CNG kit & use this car as family's within city car.

Dear bhpians, please assess the value of my swift dzire zdi, March 2012. Replaced bonnet, one fender, both the bumpers, one rear door, boot door, one rear fender. It was involved in an accident. No major structural damage to the car, car repaired at the dealer, really good paintjob done. How much loss, will this make to the actual value of the car, as compared to an undamaged car?

You have replaced many a part rather than tinkering it. Which I assume makes the car as good as original. Are there any weldings done on the inside to the structure. If not it can pass off as damaged. It should take a hit of 50K, since it is so popular and in demand and not many are available in the market, you will not lose much.
