Agreed. I like Kamyo. They'd sent like 5 people to my place for the detailing.

Thanks! IMHO, best to use detailers instead of DIY.

That's the rat repellent tape I've applied on all the pipes - Amazon link.

If you are having really tough stains then steam cleaning might be an option you should explore. It penetrates deeper into the seat surface plus can be quicker and less mechanically taxing than scrubbing a stain since it helps loosen dirt.

Re: BMW 530d M-Sport (F10) : My pre-worshipped beast

Wished my sister a happy birthday, and remembered it's exactly 4 years since I got the car home! Undoubtedly, one of the best automotive decisions I've taken. A fabulous sedan, great price, lots & lots of smiles, f-a-s-t performance, stellar reliability with zero mechanical or electronic issues and about 100 highway drives up. She turns 6 this year and I think I'll keep her for at least another 4.

Best part is, she still makes every drive feel like an occasion .

With my bros on the delivery day:

Re: BMW 530d M-Sport (F10) : My pre-worshipped beast

No news on an ownership thread is good news. The 6-year old car is performing spectacularly. My sister who is visiting from the USA & drives some really nice cars there tells me explicitly that she looks forward to cruising around Bombay in the 530d.

This is from a recent lunch. She makes every outing an occasion

I absolutely HATE this trend of European manufacturers linking the fuel lid to the central locking system. People who clean cars are generally unorganised & lack discipline. I see this ever so often that the guy who cleans my car left the fuel lid open, as even a slight pressure on the lid (when the car is unlocked) pops it open. Manufacturers should really just give a separate button / switch to open the fuel lid.

Hello GTO. I just saw your post on Fiat Abarth. You placed Punto Abarth above 530d in driving comfort. A bit disappointed when I read your expert comment as I own a 530d M Sport since 2015. But here you are to cheer me up. What do I take?

I said the Abarth is *as much fun* as a 530d on the open road. My opinion as I love the mechanical purity of the Punto Abarth, but it might not be the same for you / anyone else.

And certainly not in terms of "driving comfort". Even after almost a decade of experiencing the Punto & Linea, I still cannot find my perfect driving position in them.

Thanks to my PA for this discovery. The fuel lid pops open after you unlock the car! Obviously a defect. IMO whenever the car is washed, the car wash guy (obviously) applies pressure on that area. It doesn't open then (thankfully), but does lead to this issue.

See the timestamps. This is from yesterday. The 3rd picture shows the fuel lid popping open after I've unlocked the car:

Farewell 530D

This thread helped me decide and buy the 530d few years ago and I will be forever thankful to you for all the valuable information shared here.

It was very difficult to decide my next car after owning the 530d with the steinbauer chip.
Luckily I have upgraded to a 2013 F13 640d Coupe. It is currently running a stage 1 quantum remap churning out 360 horses & 700Nm torque. The twin turbo engine is a crazy torque monster. Stage 2 and a downpipe being installed next week.

Its finally time to say goodbye to my 530d.

Congratulations! The 640d is the perfect upgrade from the 530d.

Most welcome. Now time for you to return the favour . Treat us with an ownership report. Many of us have drooled over the 640d. You - with your 530d experience - could tell us exactly how it feels compared to the F10.

Re: BMW 530d M-Sport (F10) : My pre-worshipped beast

Was just chatting with the boys & realised that the 530d is one of the rare cars I've owned that isn't modified, and there are hardly any plans to either. That's totally unlike my earlier souped-up cars like the Civic, City Vtec, Lancer (after-market rims, powertune boxes, free-flows, loaded audio systems and what not).

Reason = it's deadly in stock form itself & has pretty much everything straight from the factory. There's enormous power, the stock ICE is damn good, and there's really no need to upsize the 275 mm tyres .

It was a similar case with the C220 which was bone stock for the 9 years we had it (except for fatter tyres, sunfilm & plates).

With the warranty expiring later this year, at the most, I'll get a remap. Not like I'm craving for it, but just to spice things up a bit as the car reaches its midlife.

Re: BMW 530d M-Sport (F10) : My pre-worshipped beast

Hello GTO. I'd purchased a 2008 E60 530d Highline back in 2012 (I'd posted an initial ownership report back then on the forum too here - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-...limited-4.html (Pre-Worshipped BMW E60 530d - JOY Unlimited!) ). I still have the car and it is serving me perfectly well. No major issues in these years. The ownership experience has been great so far.

The car is almost 11 years old and I feel it is time to upgrade and the only other car I can think of to replace this would be a pre-worshipped 2014+ F10 530d M Sport. As a F10 owner & user, what would your views be on the proposed switch from E60 to F10? Please do share your thoughts.

Since your E60 is now 11 years old, you should definitely do a lateral upgrade!

What you will get = A newer car, more comfortable ride quality, more power + torque, that amazing ZF 8-speed gearbox, nicer interiors, more equipment.

What you will lose = That pure hydraulic steering (although I like the F10's steering too) and much tighter handling. The E60 is a true sports sedan while the F10 is a luxury sedan that also goes fast. You'll feel the F10's weight, fat & body roll a lot more in corners.

Go for it . Get the last of the F10s while they are still new & fresh.
